Strong line- up for the Royals tonight- not many here !!

Still goalless with 10 to go. In this comp if it’s a draw there are pens and an extra point to the winners.
0-1 90+1

Pathetic losing at home to team 9th in the league below. Not even sure if Bristol are professional anymore? If this was mens football Chambers would have gone months ago how she is still in a job is beyond me.

Once again paid dearly for failure to convert chances throughout the game. Should never have lost this game.

1 step forward with the win vs Villa straight to 2 steps back with last night's defeat.

Mid Sussex Royal Problem is Kelly is Reading through and through so not sure what the appetite would be for change even if we lost the next couple of winnable games.

Also, I can't recall ever hearing of a coach in the WSL being sacked but stand to be corrected on that

Everton have just sacked their manager

And The Guardian refer to Everton as having made 'a shaky start' to the season!

Really interesting article here:
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/so ... ry-twitter

Basically they found a way of "rendering" a match so you could see all the action and movement, but not see who was playing. First part of the article is about race - how the perception of who was the most athletic in a match between Senegal and Poland changed, when the players' race could no longer be seen.

Second part, and why I posted in this thread, is a comparison between men and women, when rendering meant the viewers couldn't see what they were watching.

The study also examined attitudes toward gender by showing viewers a pair of two-minute clips, one from the American top-flight National Women’s Soccer League and another from League Two, the English men’s fourth tier. Even though the NWSL draws more fans to games, its average player earns about a quarter as much as the average player in League Two. Gregory and Pleuler were curious whether this “clear gender pay gap” could be explained by a difference in the quality of the soccer shown on TV, as some have argued.

People who watched the broadcasts said that the men’s game was “higher quality” by a 57 percent to 43 percent margin. Those who saw the renders with genderless stick figures preferred the women’s match, 59 percent to 41 percent. The results weren’t statistically significant across a small sample of 105 mostly male respondents, but Pleuler believes the line of research is promising. “I think these results are suggestive that your average soccer fan can’t tell the difference between something that does have a large investment level and the women’s game, which does not,” he said.

Massive match on Sunday for Kelly Chambers and the team when they play Birmingham City at St Andrews KO 2pm. Win for the home team would see them leap frog the Royals in the table. Match is live on the FA player.

A clear candidate for the rendering experiment/research.

Personally I find the continued criticism of women's football incredible boring. Most of it seems to be posted by people who have time on their hands, presumably having got bored of talking about men's football.

Should really be ahead…had all of the ball and several half chances. Just need to create that clear cut opening, which has been the problem all season! At least we look much tighter in defence again. Hopefully the nightmare start (Villa aside) is over now!

Not sure the pathetic performance against Bristol City in the conti Cup is completely erased yet, but yes this was better although Birmingham are a dire outfit !!

Obviously the keeper helped out on Sunday, but that second Rose goal is one I expect us to score quite a few times this season
