morganb Liverpool have agreed a deal with Reading to re-sign striker Natasha Dowie on loan for the rest of the season

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64468740

Looks like we failed to bring anyone in to replace her. Great plan for a team already struggling to have a recognised striker fit!!

And in true RFC style, we replace Dowie with Cameroon international centre back, Easther Mayi Kith on a permanent deal.

Oh dear, when will teams learn that it is actually quite difficult to try to always defend nil.

Looks like the women's management team have caught Incitis!

She hadn`t started a game for ages, so no real surprise. We could do with Deene Rose coming back quicker than expected !

The fact that she wasn't getting games mystified me, particularly when Kelly Chambers was making a big thing about the team not taking the chances they created. Could come back to haunt us big time if Liverpool end up being the team that survives at our expense (Leicester seem to be picking up a bit).

Completely agree about Deanne Rose but sadly extremely unlikely, particularly if being looked after by those who also handle the men's injuries!

The fact we ended up with Rowe up front against Leicester was baffling! Dowie only came on to take a pen. Our lack of natural strikers is going to cost us eventually.

Royals and Racers New striker coming in today. https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2023/f ... -learned-/

No news so far on this. Let's hope it comes today and that they haven't cocked up big time by loaning out Dowie before the incoming striker was fully signed, sealed and delivered!

Indeed!! The lack of news is concerning…although I’m also annoyed they still haven’t set a k/o time for Spurs in the Cup.

The elusive striker is Tinaya Alexander, who was in our youth system before going on to play for Arsenal Academy. Then went to the States and most recently playing in France for Montpellier.

Leicester did us a favour losing at home to Man City yesterday but Brighton got a decent point away to Villa. Today is a big game and important to get something from.

NCAA1 soccer is a pretty good developing ground for players. It's been the development route for most of the USWNT.

Maybe she should be called Tiny Alexander as she's only 5ft 3". Let's hope she's a female Jamie Cureton!

Easther doesn't even make the squad? Are they waiting for Home Office clearance?

Excellent showing from the Royals in the 1st half…had the majority of chances, should be at least one up. Moore has made such a difference in the midfield. She is everywhere, winning it back and redistributing it well.
At the other end, Burns has dropped two crosses and we’ve just escaped after both of them. Apart from that, looked pretty solid.

Be interesting to see if Alexander gets off the bench sooner rather than later. Game is set up for her to come on and grab a goal…
