Shouldn't the women's matches now get their own thread as the superleague is going to be televised and having loads of dosh thrown at it.

Just watching Man C, look different gravy and with half their team out and no pre season prep.

The top of the WSL is seriously good standard now.

It’s supposed to be an all professional league with ambitions to be the best women’s league in the world. Yet the standard of refereeing is terrible. The ball was well over the line and United had a player offside in the build up to the second goal.

Agreed. Absolutely no reason given the money now flowing into the game and the amount of televised games that it couldn't be put in. In the meantime, it should be used at stadiums where it already exists e.g. SCL Stadium. I don't buy the 'must be used in all games or not at all argument' being applied to goal line technology. Unlike VAR it is an absolute digital decision with no human interpretation at all. No club therefore gains or loses out through having it since it just ensures goals are awarded when they are scored (like last night). Reading would have no advantage through having it at their home games, since it could just as easily work against them.

Not sure the second goal was offside. It was very close and the camera was not in line with the play, therefore could easily have presented a misleading picture.

To be fair to the Assistant Referee, it would be very difficult to spot whether the ball crossed the line in real time, particularly as he/she would not have been in line with the goal line at that point.

The trouble is, though, most of the teams do not use the same ground as the men. Most are played at non-league grounds for the majority of matches. Reading are, I think about the only club who play at the main stadium. Can't see the other clubs paying for goal line technology at stadiums they do not own.

Reading and Birmingham are the only 2 teams who's parent club isn't an established Premier League club and they both play at the men's stadium. Leicester also share the men's stadium. 5 of the 12 clubs play at grounds they own.

Of the other 7, only Everton and Arsenal play at grounds that have not hosted games at EFL League 2 or higher (Manchester United play at a RL Super League stadium).

Absolutely no reason why the WSL can't stipulate the installation of goal line technology as a condition of membership, especially if it has pretentions at being the biggest league in the world.

Shocking performance at Spurs today. Lost 1-0 but could've been a lot more. The team seems to have been going backwards over the past 2-3 seasons. So ineffective going forwards, which leaves the defence under continuous pressure defending '0'.

Three straight losses this season and not a single goal scored!

Now obviously these women teams of Premier League clubs are much better funded than our women's team but we really seem to have just completely stalled, perhaps even gone backwards. Maybe it's less knee jerk in women's football but in any men's team, Kelly Chambers would have been sacked a long time ago.

Agreed. Indeed neutral pundits have suggested we have stood still at best whilst the rest have progressed forwards. Personally, I think we've slipped backwards, particularly in terms of our attacking abilities. Dreadful conversion rate of numerous chances last season and this season we're not even creating the chances.

And apart from the top 4 or 5 clubs I don't think we're particularly badly funded. We are also able to offer the attraction of superb training facilities and a great home stadium (the best in the WPL?). However, we seem to squander the money on a constant churn of players. Some of the transfer decisions, in and out, have been mystifying.

I wonder who at the club decides on the fate of the women's team manager.
