Wycombe Royal I left the Wolves game early back in the Elm Park days when we were losing 1-0 going in to injury time......I was walking down Parkside Road when the equaliser went in and on Westcote Road by the time the winner hit the net.

I was gutted and blamed my dad for making me leave early.......

This is my game that I always reference as you should never leave a game early when 2 goals in injury time can change the result.

Was funny seeing the treatment of Gilkes on this video and also the formality of the players post match attire, well at least Archie’s!

Never leave a game when there’s only a goal in it. In fact, I think it should only be reserved for when you’re down by 3 goals or more going into the final 20 minutes or so.

Had a near miss once that would have been epic.

Away to Man Utd in 06/07. 3-1 with 5 mins to go and down to 10 men. We scored on 90 and then missed a great chance to equalize at the death. Would never have lived it down.

I've left early. It's usually been when we've been absolutely terrible and have been poor for a long run of games and wouldn't have got anything out of the game or if I've had somewhere else I need to be so I'll stay at the match for as long as possible until I have to go to wherever I need to be, thankfully I've not missed anything crucial enough for me to regret it.

In general though I will stay until the final whistle, I'm not bothered about being caught in a bit of traffic, we're there for the football and generally plan our day around it so we can see the whole match.

Pepe the Horseman Bristol City 2-3 Reading in 2011. I left with 20 mins to go, when we were 2-0 down.

I was at that game. There was a father and his 2 sons next to me, they left after Bristol City scored their second which I believe was still in the first half?

The atmosphere at the end when the whole away end were singing the Le Fondre chant (Tequila not oooh Adam Le Fondre  ) was brilliant! Such a shame that chant never caught on.

I can’t remember it how did it go?

Done it 2 or 3 times I think, only ever at home.

The main that stands out the most was West Ham in 07/08 when we lost 3-0 after we missed a penalty. Knew the game was over and actually said West Ham would probably score again. Didn't get away quick enough as heard the West Ham fans celebrating the 3rd goal while walking down the hill. Maybe left early (had plans that evening) after the 0-2 to Watford in 06/07 but not sure. Definitely didn't stay for the lap of honour. Also remember being in the loo when Pog scored a great goal against Doncaster in 13/14 which I was disappointed to miss when I heard how good it was.

Yes saw loads leaving with 5 minutes normal time to go. its brainless with the game on a knife edge. you can watch the rest downstairs but it is out of sync , if he goal is scored you will know before its shown.

John Smith
Green I've more often regretted not leaving early when I'm queuing for a bus or train. Two minutes of football vs half an hour in the pub - which would you choose?

Quite.

My mate left Brentford (a) a couple of years back after about an hour even though we won 3-0 as there was no beer. Now that's what you call a proper lad.

I agree

Guy and a teenage kid in front of us in the ED left after 75 minutes. My son couldn’t believe it

'Left' early yesterday to watch the remainder of the game from the North end of the East Stand. Plenty of people standing there and good atmosphere. Saw Fed's goal from the same position back in the good old days!

One of my kids decided that the 95th min was a good time to visit the toilet and missed the goal. Muppet

I remember a bloke behind me on the South Bank loudly announcing "this lot will never score in a million years" and leaving *that* match against Plymouth at half-time.
