Old Man Andrews
Rea Ding Bracknell didn't jump out at me from that list as a place I would like to go, but having said that it could be a different sort of an away day. Anyone thinking of going or been before and can given an insight on the ground ??

Parking is crap, ground is nice, lots of standing room. Good toilet and bar facililties, people are nice.

Cheers, might give it a go

Parking is limited. There's the standard restrictions for roads near a town centre and the road the ground is on is narrow and a dead end. There is some parking on it though so if you get there early you might be lucky. After that it's any of the multitude of town centre car parks.

Railway station is 10-15 mins walk

There are now plenty of drinkeries and chain eateries in the town centre, Old Manor is nearest pub/restaurant.

Perhaps BBC Berks should cover it live - they did do the checkacrowd games with the U23s after all and this would be of proper local interest (esp. as they now have a Tuesday night 3 hour sports programme in their schedules). They probably won't even recognise the tournament exists let alone the game is on though.

Marlow FC - Arthur Davis Memorial Ground - Oak Tree Road SL7 3EE

Marvellous old style NL stadium pleasant enough bar and excellent food outlet. Should comfortably cater for a decent crowd size - capacity is about 3k - think the next round is to be played by Feb but the B&B FA site has temporarily taken down it's fixture bit for the Senior Cup.

Other sides left in at the 1/4 Final stage : MK Dons, Slough, Hungerford, Flackwell Heath, Aylesbury Utd & Holmer Gn or Maidenhead Utd.

....can't remember the rest of the draw - will post it when the B&B site is updated.

Can't seem to find confirmation about the Marlow game, but if we are playing them I will 100% be making the trip!

It's not Marlow, we're playing Flackwell Heath, who are very happy about it. It makes a change to be seen as a desirable draw!

.... wondered why the draw had vanished off the B&B site

Magpie Lane is another rusty old charmer with a decent bar. Ol fellah behind the bar is a hoot too 'Billy'.
Absolutely f£ck all parking so surrounding streets will have to suffice - ground is very well hidden down a lane opposite a Launderette.

plenty of covered standing room too.

Will have to look at dates for this, tbh I hadn't heard of Flackwell Heath before but seems fairly accessible so could be an interesting away day. Hopefully it's arranged on a day Reading firsts aren't playing as could attract a few away fans

Royals and Racers just beat me to this thread today.....

Quarter-final update:
15/01/19 - Hungerford Town 1 Slough Town 2
22/01/19 (19:45) - Flackwell Heath v Reading
22/01/19 (19:45) - Marlow v MK Dons
30/01/19 (19:45) - Aylesbury United v Maidenhead United
Doesn't look as if the semi-final draw has taken place yet.

Weather for Tuesday night looks to be very cold, but not snowing. Marlow must be desperately disappointed that the enormous RFC drawing power will be only a few miles away from them whilst they host their game.

Although Reading said they would play their Under-23s in this competition, it is of course open age, so in theory players "banned from the first team squad" could be available. If the names are right, not sure I'd select any of them anyway. I wonder if someone at the club has had to try to explain to Gomes what the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup is.

Snow is coming early Tuesday i believe, and lots of it !!
Edit just seen the "countryfile" forecast and not so much a risk of snow as previously forecast- match should go ahead ok.

I freely admit that I may have got that one a bit wrong.

Well, either that or Flackwell Heath have deliberately powdered the pitch to get the game off.

To be honest, even if anyone had wanted to go, getting there would have been a nightmare tonight. Roads all chocka due to snow.

.... surprise surprise Marlow is off tonight too

- indeed as is virtually every NL game in the area, apart from a Cup game @ Ardley and rather more puzzling the CCL1 match at Farnham (v Cove)

.... and as above roads around 'ding were completely f£(ked -from 17:30 onwards, took me the best part of 40 mins to get back from Wokkers on the 329 - the last couple of hundred yards around RBH took another 15'.

Decided very early not to risk trying anywhere....... :|
