Not much time to do a lot and they seem low on goals, not sure his strength is finding them.

Still think but for a Joao injury he may have still been here with us in midtable and Moore long gone.

New manager bounce is what he and the club needs at this stage of the season which could happen and it would be the perfect time with so few games left. They'll probably need 3, possibly 4, wins to survive.

I think the board made their mind up long before that time anyway. It was a strange time to remove a manager, but I know there was talk of Moore leaving the club which I don't think the club wanted at that time either, I think they wanted the squad to remain together for one more season to have a chance of a push for promotion. Obviously those plans have now been abandoned.

YorkshireRoyal99 Not so much an ex-player but, Mark Bowen has taken charge of AFC Wimbledon until the end of the season. The Dons are winless in 21 games and sit one point from safety. I hope he keeps them up personally.

Good luck to him - hope he does it - reckon he will then get the gig full time. Decent club, great new ground.

Sam Smith just scored a gorgeous header, his 19th goal of the season.

Decent return that, 13 in the league I think

Always thought he had something about him - but can’t see him being successful above L1. Good luck to him though and glad he’s doing well

Quite a few of his goals have been in cup competitions. 13 in 43 in the league, that's a goal every 3.3 games. A touch short of where you'd ideally want him to be at that level. Imo.

I could see him knocking around the Championship as a back up striker who could net you 7-11 a season maybe. But yeah, don't think he'll make it at this level

What I really liked about Smith in his few appearances for us was his workrate and movement. He had a great attitude.

Kirkrich jnr is a teacher in a school in Croydon. Yesterday, they had a motivational speaker come to the school... None other than Nicky Forster! NF was surprised and pleased that someone from around here knew him. Kirkrich jnr and NF had a good long football chat after the event and he can confirm that NF is a top bloke.

Record signing in 1979, broke the 10 year record following the signing of Steve Death.....but then hardly ever played

Never understood why, as Gary Peters was our only right back and left at the end of the previous season

Is my memory deserting me again ?
HC was seriously left footed, so why would only one right back make any difference to his appearances ?

That was my first thought.
Fair-haired lad came IIRC from a Northern club.

IIRC he was more of a left sided midfielder than a full back. Nice tidy player.
