Orion1871 Alex McCarthy signs a new contract with Southampton. Saints fans I've seen on Reddit disappointed they've chosen to keep him as number 1 and not sign a new keeper.

Just looked on their forum site and disappointed is an understatement.

While Stam didn't help, Kelly believed his own hype and didn't help himself with that England call-up business.

Believed Stam's hype.

Yep, hopefully the whole Feyernoord experience has seen him learn a lesson or 2. He's only 25 and if has a decent season at Rochdale, could easily get back up to L1 or even Champ level in a couple of seasons - he certainly has the talent.

Think all the hype just came too soon for him - went from playing for Bath to having smoke blown up his backside in the play off final in the space of a year. New contract on that as well. Did also hear plenty on him not being the most humble off the pitch

Is a shame as certainly some talent there. Just needs to settle down at a club now and get on with playing

By all accounts he was a oxf*rd twat off the pitch. Used to see him when he was a youth team player being over flash in town.

Noticed that Craig Tanner got an assist for Ebbsfleet on Sat. Didn't realise he was playing for them now.

Did well when in loan at Plymouth and eventually moved to Motherwell on a 2 year deal in 2017. Looked to be doing quite well there early on but picked up a serious knee injury in training and effectively was out for 18 months before returning to the Motherwell reserve side and rejecting a new deal there before signing for Aldersh*t a couple of seasons ago.

Riquelme - remember him? Big star to take us to next level, only to be poached by Bournemouth and then cue the twitter and forum spat.

Well, he's too lightweight apparently, Bournemouth fans baffled as to why they wanted him so much over us - he is now off on loan to Mirandes in Spain.

Yep, good luck indeed, was a genuine jack in the box....never knew what he’d do next...quite liked that.

On another side dish, Guntz starts for Wales.....and finishes on the winning team....complete with a yellow card

Given the recent chat about Aaron Kuhl it was interesting to see that he scored for Slough yesterday. He was one of my favourite academy players when he broke through so it's a shame what happened to him.

Today, Windsor FC has announced the signing of James Harper. Welcome back to Berkshire, James. Hope your stay with The Royalists (if that is still their nickname) will be as succussful as with The Royals.

just spotted this in regards to Stam being sacked by Cincinnati

FCC's now sits at 4-13-8 – Stam posted an 8-28-12 record as manager of Cincinnati – and is second-to-last in the MLS Eastern Conference.

The 2021 season was been a complete disappointment for FC Cincinnati, which built a slightly lopsided, attack-heavy team in terms of expenditure and had one of the most expensive rosters in MLS this year.

His career been an absolute shambles since season 1 here. It was a total fluke wasn't it?

poor Tyler as well

Should post this in here but here is an interview conducted with Andy Bernal - https://youtu.be/1Juu9w51uak

I'm sure you will all find it really interesting. Talks about setting up the goal for Nogan at Wembley

One of the strangest managers we’ve ever had

Found a system which worked to a tee - which got us to two kicks away from the Prem, and then for some unbeknown reason decided to alter it to something vastly different and complicated. Predictably, it didn’t work, and he then seemed determined to criticise the fans at any point

Haven’t followed his career much since then but on the snippets I’ve seen, it seems it’s been a similar pattern to his second season here
