Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

by PistolPete » 07 Jan 2019 10:36

6 month loan deal from Liverpool. If he’s to play central midfield, I’m annoyed and surprised. If he’s to play inside forward then it could be a good move.

Having said that- I’ve never seen him play so fingers crossed!

sounds like its happening

Don't know a lot about him, but doesn't scream as the kind of player needed in a relegation scrap. Sounds like he did ok at Rangers though

unless its with a view to a permanent signing I'm not interested in any way.
even then he needs to be half decent too and it doesn't sound nailed on in that regard

He is well thought of at Liverpool and Gerrard took him to Rangers having worked with him in the Academy - appears that he just couldn't settle in Glasgow hence the loan cut short. From London, so that shouldn't be a problem here.

Interesting signing but good to see we appear to be being very proactive this window.

my googling suggests a decent player, but not really a priority area to fix. sounds fairly similar to Rinomhota

Can see why he fits into Gomes plan. Be interesting to see who goes from the current midfield set up if he comes in

I am thinking that Gomes sees attack as the best form of defence and so may well maximise options in that area. If Sims is going back then perhaps Ejaria will be a replacement/step up on him.

Believe he was also on loan at Sunderland last season so will know O’Shea and at 21 he really needs to break through somewhere soon.

An interesting one-I wonder if it is a case of wanting to be back down near London and Barry Hunter having a part to play.

Interesting that he's a midfielder, could've sworn he was a winger/forward - maybe I'm thinking of Sheyi Ojo *noracismo*

Yes a new coach who wants to play possession football and will go and buy more non-specialist midfielders......yes that's exactly what we need right now.

I have this vague sense of deja vu

Direct replacement for Clement.

Glad to see we're taking the squad size issue seriously at last

From Despair To Where? Found the Scottish Premier League too physical.

Hmmm!

I read it that he was simply unsettled in Scotland. Born London I believe, so may feel happier down south? TBF not sure Glasgow is any more of a shit pit than Liverpool. (Yes, I have been to both cities before I am accused of racism or something). Wonder what he'll think of the environs of Reading?!?!?!

Would imagine he'll live in London and commute.

The Daily Record reported that he was unsettled because he found the league too physical for his liking

He isn’t going to have much of a career in England if he can’t take to the physical side of the game.

Anybody whelmed by this one?

Probably the same people who were very down beat about Gomes !
I want to give the lad a chance rather than writing him off on the back of one comment by a Scottish journalist ....
