Absolute stinker of a day

Clutching at straws but Brentford now nothing to play for, Boro are playing abysmally and Brum likely to be safe as well. West Brom also out of auto promo

4 games which look more likely for us to pick up points in

Let's be honest, the chances of us getting anything today were minute, their wingers are simply too good for our team. You either need a team of giants to beat them at the KCOM (like Rotherham) or luck (which QPR got). We'll move on, we've got a much easier run in than you'd think, today and Norwich were the hardest two games left of the season

Actually expected Hull away to be a defeat as it’s been such a miserable place for Reading for the last 25 years or so.

Norwich is nothing but a free hit with no pressure on the team as they are expected to get smashed.

So Brentford is now yet another must win game - but was it ever anything else?

Bristol City seem to be drifting but are retaining some signs of usefulness if you let them play

WBA is another expected defeat but at least they aren’t quite a Leeds, Sheff U or Norwich.

Middlesbrough appear to be on a downturn, so let’s hope they’re still in that state when Reading turn up.

And finally there’s Birmingham. Anyone remember the miserable showing put in by Reading the last time they had Brum turn up at the Mad Stad for the final league game of a season with something riding on it.

Few points

- Oliveira was really really poor today, quite clearly not ready. Why he stayed on so long was a mystery
- Arguably thought Martinez could have done better with goal 2 and 3
- Baker and Rino our best two again, Ejaria up there as well
- Barrow quite simply HAD to score that chance at 1-1, really poor there
- Blackett's walkies again
- Miazga had his worst game in a Reading shirt
- Meite and Barrow were poor

Some shit goals to concede there.

First one, weak challenges in midfield from Meite and maybe someone else, Moore slow, Blackett not in line
Second one, Blackett, Moore and Baker all over the place marking no one, Martinez failing to hold on to it.
Third one, Martinez positioning all over the place

Barrow should probably make it 1-2 but looked a handy save.
Poor ball across the goal on a break from Oliveira

A bit of clever passing and some direct running and we fall apart.

From the highlights just looks like they took their chances very well and we missed a few we really needed to score

lmao absolutely woeful. Woke up and saw we were 1-0 up at half time, knew we'd concede so I thought it would likely be a draw and that would be decent enough. Checked again after taking the dog out and saw we'd decided to concede 3 quick shit goals and slipped towards another spanking at the hands of a mediocre mid-table team.

Gomes has does a decent job and there has been a few positives recently for a change, but a club on the resurgence does not get hammered as easily as that without some major underlying problems at the club still. Even when their confidence should be up with a bit of form behind them they are too mentally weak for this division and roll over too easily. I can't wait to clear out this entire squad of dross and start again, it doesn't matter which division at this point as the process needs to be the same. Complete rebuild under Gomes.

Pretty sure it was Baker, he started to look tired after 75 minutes or so.
