See Get Reading have had a crack at valuing the current squad:

https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/foot ... g-16150786

Not sure they are very accurate as they value Novakovich and Sam Smith at the same price!

The numbers probably aren't that far off what should be the values in the market but there is so much money flying around it doesn't really reflect reality.

Hound there is some absolute random figures in there.

Think my favourite is Sam Smith being valued at £1m and 31 year old McCleary being valued at £3m :D :D :D :D

I'd put it more at this

Jaakkola - £0
Walker - 300k

Gunter - 1 million
Yiadom - 4 million
O'Shea - free
McShane - free
Moore- 8 million
Obita - can't really say
Richards - 3 million (difficult one but I think he could turn into a half decent player)
Blackett - 2 million
Danzell - free
Watson - 300k

Swift - 6 million
McCleary - 500k (ridiculous one from J Low there)
Harriott - 1 million if new contract given
Barrow - 3.5 million
Meite- 5 million
Rinomhota - not for sale
Kelly - 50 million
Meyler - 200k
Joey - free
Popa - 300k

Baldock - 1.5 million
Bod - 2 million
Loader - not for sale
Smith - 300k (like Watson, he's flopped at a lower level)
Novakovich - can't really say, but wouldn't sell for less than 3/4 million
McNulty - 1 million

Very hypothetical, would try and avoid selling Loader/Rinomhota at any price unless a ridiculous bid comes in for either of them

oh why not - bored on a Friday afternoon...this is what we would take for them to get them off the books, maybe not their real value:

Jaakkola - £0
Walker - £0
Southwood - 2 million
Ward - 500k

Gunter - 500k
Yiadom - 5 million
O'Shea - free
McShane - free
Moore- 8 million
Obita - no one would take him, so basically will stay to see how he shapes up
Richards - 1 million
Blackett - 1.5 million
Danzell - free
Watson - 50k

Swift - 7 million
McCleary - 500k
Harriott - I think we'll let him go for free
Barrow - 5 million
Meite- 5 million
Rinomhota - 8 million
Kelly - 50p
Meyler - free, in fact I've no doubt we'll pay someone to take him
Joey - free
Popa - free - think he has already gone

Baldock - 1 million
Bod - 2 million
Loader - 10 million
Smith - free
Novakovich - 4 million
McNulty - 1 million

Southwood, Rino and Loader obvs over priced at this stage, but assume we would do our absolute best to keep them.

This is forgetting the likes of McIntyre, Osho, Barrett etc but they should be kept on anyway. Not sure what Southwood and Ward are like in all honesty

Sam Smith valued at 1 million was a bit of a joke. Jonathan Low has improved massively but that's ridiculous, Smith is just the striker version of George Evans, completely bang average, and struggling to make the bench of a league 1 relegation team

I wouldn't be against keeping Meyler, dependant on wages, I think he would be a decent model for the younger lads, and I'm a bit wary of kicking out all the experience we have left in the squad

I get what you're saying but don't think we're really in a position to have players in the squad just because they're a decent role model, especially when they seemingly have 0 chance of getting in the team.

I'd say someone that has captained their country would be a good role model for the younger ones, yep Ireland aren't exactly full of good players, but he has the aura of a good professional. When I went to watch an U23 game earlier this season and he was playing, he was constantly helping out the younger ones and dishing out advice

Yeah, there is that problem with FFP. If he was on low wages, it could possibly be an idea but I doubt Meyler is on that low a wage, especially as that was the time Gourlay was floating around

He is 31 and has a year left on his deal. He is worth about 500k at best.

Smith isn't worth 100k.

Fair enough. The point still stands though, if we get rid of meyler, mcshane, O’Shea, baldock who will be the experienced pro in the squad. Probably Moore next unless I’m forgetting someone?
