Thanks for the link

Weve been comfortable on the ball and McIntyre has played out well from the back, but there’s a lack of thrust in the final third

IMO we’re really missing someone to have a go at their man, it’s all a bit of the same really with Olise, Barrett and Holsgrove (even Swift really)

And this is why I don’t think we need Ejaria, we’ve got many players similar to him

No Barrow again. I really hope he isn’t leaving. We have very few wing options assuming McCleary and Popa leave.

windermereROYAL Surely any Manager would have McNulty above Baldock in the pecking order?

Not based on their performances for Reading, or their careers to date.

1-0 Granada and fully deserved. We look very poor. Passing out of defence has been dreadful. We offer no threat up front. Decent finish for their goal which Virginia had no chance with. It stemmed from a long ball forward which McIntyre failed to cut out.

1-0 FT. It became niggly at the end. We did have a shout for a pen when Swift was bundled over off the ball. Other than that we created nothing. Swift’s free-kicks were dreadful.

Holsgrove

Thought we looked tidy etc but nothing up front. Barrow was awful and Barrett couldn’t get in the game

Looked pretty tired tbh. Poor defending from TomMc for the goal

Keeper looked decent enough. Be interesting to see who we play vs Peterborough

Holsgrove took the last one which was equally dreadful ...

So excluding the 10 goals against the pub team its 2 goals in 5 games, and one of them was a pen.

McNulty hasn’t had the chance to impress so it’s a bit unfair to say that

Point taken but we have played some decent teams, whilst 50% of the time fielding a team full of youth

With the first XI games :

Defence has been on the whole solid, McIntyre has quite a bit to learn but that’s understandable

Midfield, it’s all well and good playing pretty football but when there’s no final ball, it all amounts to nothing

I want to see Nova up front in the first XI with McNulty given a chance. Loader and Meite aren’t strikers and I’m getting tired of watching them do nothing up top whilst him freezing out a natural goalscorer

But I don’t think we’re far away from achieving something. There has to be a link between the midfield and attack which were just not quite getting at the moment

Yes the little chip forward.
What that performance demonstrated is how badly we need to get Lewis Baker back. We badly lacked someone who could drop deep and collect a simple pass from the back four and then spread the ball wide. Only a friendly I know but that was way below where we are going to need to be.

Lol, it's the youth players that have got most the goals isn't it?

We could do with a few against Posh.
