Hound Don’t think anyone is being negative are they?

Obita didn’t play any part

Did you see that as your cue to be negative then, Hound?!

Hound Better than losing to them I suppose

But yeah it’s obvious a pretty low standard oppo

This is great because on paper we've got some glaring weaknesses but are still doing well. The players will enjoy this. They'll gain fitness. They're combining. And the strikers are getting used to hitting the back of the net.

I think these early easy routs are actually a really good way to start preseason for good season.

Good to see Loader, Nova and Holsgrove amongst the goals. I think East and Holsgrove are quite an exciting combination.

It has a bit of a look of a reserve side and first team side, but maybe a few cross overs.

Had a very quick look at other teams early results and surprised by the lack of thrashing being handed out. Bristol City put 14 past Hallen, Wigan 7 past Chester (then lost at Flyde), othewise the 5's hit by Barnsley (V Stalybridge) and Leeds (v York) are the only large scores.

Surprised to see 5 clubs (Cardiff, Hull, QPR, Stoke and WBA) don't appear to have played yet.

Games against local amateur teams are fairly common on the continent - Eintracht Frankfurt beat the amateurs of Bad Homburg 14-0 last week - so not surprised we have put one of these games in early on. It give the players a chance to work on combinations and build confidence in front of goal in a low pressure environment - Saturday will be a massive jump in class.

First half line up:

Walker

Howe Moore McIntyre Blackett
Rino Swift Meite Olise
Barrow Loader

Fair play to the RFC fans that have clearly made the trip for this.

Still playing out under excessive pressure and turning it over then.

Fabulous goaline clearance.

But enough about Lopetegui's tactics, what about Reading?

Coach sent off in a pre-season friendly.

Could have been a very nasty challenge that though.

Yeah, can't accuse him of not caring! Neither looked great at all. Blackett stuck one straight back on them within 5 minutes though.

WTAF is wrong with Swift. Just tried to beat two players on the edge of his own box and lost it. Also gave it away dangerously near the half way line earlier as well. He's such a liability in our half. The sooner we sign a proper midfielder the better.

Good half from us despite a few hairy moments and no shots of note. Rino looks as class as ever, Howe coping quite well despite being exposed often. Olise faded out a bit as the half went on. Loader done alright... but we've no real presence upfront with him leading the line. McIntyre seems to be coping fine too.

They were 'robust' challenges but nothing too dangerous.

Jorge Mendonca, though. What a boy! Nearly as barking mad as Andre Bikey. At least he didn't nut the ref.

He might crack a ref this season. Anyone taking bets on that?
