WestYorksRoyal Pace is obviously valuable, but what the system really needs to a striker who can hold the ball up, link up play intelligently and physically compete with centre backs. Murray can do all this and is an excellent finisher to boot. His experience and nous will make up for a lack of pace. He would be a quality signing. More to the point, any player with all those attributes plus pace and the ability to run in behind will be a PL player. I'd love to see Ings, but let's be realistic. Are we going to see the annual Long rumour resurface too?

Puscas can inject some pace and running in behind from the bench if we feel the game needs that.

I don't disagree he has class but our style, particularly away from home has involved setting up on the counter, and the striker feeding off the shoulder of the last man, as well as holding it up in certain situations. Murray obviously isn't the quickest to be able to do that

Doubt we'll see the Long rumours considering he's been a mainstay in their team recently, with them winning 8 out of the last 10 games!

It's not a transfer window without a rumour of Long's return and me being against it.

Might start one for the familiarity.

Unless Moore has had his foot amputated you would expect him to be fit for Saturday.
Otherwise we’re going to be a little light in central defence. Would you play Blackett or go with Osho ?

For the record Boye is expected back about the same time as Joao - mid March.

Is Boye on loan or did we sign him?

Injury latest

Yiadom played with the U23s at Swansea today. Hopefully he'll be in the frame for Wednesday against West Brom.

McIntyre out for another four weeks at best, Miazga possibly another three weeks.

Gunter - Chris tweaked his groin. I don't know how long. He pulled up straight away so until he has a scan we'll see.

In addition the club are wary over Obita who has hamstring stiffness and was subbed yesterday as a precaution.

Reading striker Lucas Joao has provided a small but exciting update on his road to recovery.

The Portuguese frontman has been out of action since New Year's Day when he pulled up with a hamstring injury late on during the 2-1 win at Fulham.

Royals have arguably not been the same since with Joao having been in red hot form prior to the injury.

The 26 year old posted a picture on his Instagram account on Monday morning with a picture of himself wearing football boots and the caption 'What a feeling.'

Joao is not expected to be back any time soon and although the season is in danger of petering out, his update will still cause lots of excitement among loyal Royals.

The former Sheffield Wednesday striker is pencilled in for a mid-March return.

Surely Yiadom's U23 involvement today suggests WBA is too soon? We expect him to recover in 2 days?

Starting is probably pushing our luck a bit, but should be good for the bench at least hopefully.

Yep, would think he would be on the bench on Wednesday.

Do we know the extent of the Gunter injury? Would Ararunna be in line for a start on Wednesday?

I think it was a groin tweak. So probably a chance he could play, but not sure it seems a good idea.

Gunter out for four weeks minimum. Bit of a blow for him because unless Yiadom gets injured again/suspended, can’t see him losing the shirt again this season

That is a bit of a shame as he had been playing very well, but if he was going to get injured, doing it the week before Yiadom is due back from injury is very considerate!
