I went Ejaria. I think he will go from strength to strength. Assuming it becomes permanent we could be selling him for £15m in a few years. I think he's better than Swift.

Overall, it's a great transfer window. A mix of experience and younger talent. All in positions where there is a need. Looks like it is thought out; not mindless spending.

We must be patient though. They won't gel overnight. Defeat at Hull doesn't mean they're all shit.

Very much, but I think Miazga is the one I wanted most. Followed by Joao

Very early to tell but it’s great to have Matt and Effie back. I think Jaoa will have a good impact. Puscas will either be amazing or shit. I see no middle ground here. Pele I am hoping will be our Makalele.
Wait and see for the new GK and wide forward.

Either Muazga, Rafael or Puscas.

Miazga because we needed another experienced head in the centre of defence and at the time he signed, it was massive for us.

Rafael because it showed that although Gomes had maybe made a mistake in putting his faith in a 19 year old with zero experience, he was quick to recognise and address it.

Puscas because it signalled that something had changed in the mentality of the club. After signing 3 players the day before, it was the cherry on the icing on top of the cake.

Interesting though that in his interview Puscas said he knew of our interest 3 weeks ago and liked the manager's ideas and style. It does make me think that these signings in the last week were in the pipeline but pending something happening at the club, hence all of Gomes' statements about "3 signings this week" and his frustration at things but moving.

I also think it's another tick in the box for the investment in Bearwood. It's fantastic just to have these facilities for the players but it must really make potential signings think that the club absolutely means business.

Ejaria. Proven quality and fits us like a glove.

Miazga for me. Was class last year and had no real hope of getting him back.

But yeah, might be a good idea to run this again at Christmas.

Have we ever made an expensive signing who wasn't a flop?

I'm sure we must have done, but I'm struggling to think of any.

In relative terms, yes; didn't Lita break our then transfer record?

Yes he was terrible. I know it from the first time I saw him during his debut away at Derby.

Soft as shit.

Mariappa is probably the one who turned out the best. How much did we pay for Moore?

Bikey was great but he'll be remembered for his temper.

Lita, Seol and Ilori all had their moments. How much did we pay for Bacuna?

Matt Mills didn't start very well but recovered and we made a profit from him.

JDB looked good when he got on the pitch, but didn't get on the pitch often enough.

Gunter and Rosenior (if he counts) didn't cut it in the top flight but were reliable in the second tier. Gunter in particular have us years of good service. Blackett in the same category?

Vydra was good but we didn't get our money's worth because he couldn't finish.

Fae and Halford weren't the players we paid for. We got our money back for both of them though.

Blackman was like the anti-Bikey, one of the worst players to play for us since the days of Pardew but will be remembered for that amazing spell where everything he touched went in. Huge profit. Eh.

Then Aluko was just an unmitigated waste of money who makes even Blackman seem like a good buy.

Sure I've forgotten someone but that's all the £1m+ players I can remember. Beerens?
