2 world wars, 1 world cup Got Gomes in who kept us up.

The loan players did. Rolled the dice and up came 5 sixes.

Royals-For-Life
Simon's Church Since being reappointed as chief executive in December 2018 Nigel Howe has:

Sacked Paul Clement as we were starting to show some form.

Taken 3 weeks to appoint Jose gomes despite him having nothing on his CV to suggest he would be a successful championship manager.

Employed a remarkably scatter gun approach to recruiting players.

Appointed mark Bowen as sporting director despite having no experience of such a role.

Released multiplie videos of himself talking management speak.

Put himself front and centre of the squad photo.

Sacked Jose Gomes despite most of the fans seemingly wanting him to stay.

Seems to be about to hire Mark Bowen as manager despite no experience of management.

Are these the actions of a successful ceo? Were we better off with Gourlay?
please u dont no nothing about football he will do ok i think mark bowen will lift us top half u just watch . he will bring us fast attack football. GMAC, gunter get them back in team.

It certainly won't be fast attacking if he brings GMAC back into the team! Did you not see him 'play' last season? Pedestrian at best. Great player in the past, great servant but now history in terms of being a good first team player in The Championship.

So you actually think mccleary is the slowest attacker we have now or are you just jumping on the bandwagon? Serious question

Got rid of clement because he was shit.
Got Gomes in who kept us up.
Brought in largely quality players who kept us up and who we are lucky to have now.
Brought in Bowen to help keep us up and it worked.
He can do what he likes with vids and photos.
Sacked a nice chap but an incompetent manager in a timely manner.
Is taking a calculated risk with Bowen on a short contract.
Doing fine.
Better off with Gourlay. Are you having a laugh? [Is he having a laugh?]

+1 The voice of reason.....
I mean "were we better off with Gourley".......is it 1st April or something?
I would add also that when it comes to experience in coaching in English football, Bowen eclipses Clement, Stam and Gomes. I think Bowen might work and in fact the more I think about it Im convinced this maybe a good appointment. Not what I wanted mind.

If your reverse Mark Bowens initials you get BM.....Familier....This is the second coming.

Harsh. There’s been plenty of examples with managers who have had talent at their disposal and yet have failed miserably. You may not think Gomes did great but he at least deserves credit for getting us out of a very miserable hole

Snowflake Royal The hero worship of Howe on his return was stupid. People remember Coppell and McDermott and conveniently forget Bullivant, Burns and Rodgers.

I'm not sure how much of a say he had in Bullivant getting the job. He seemed to have much more focus on getting the Madejksi Stadium built at the time.

Tommy Burns, I'm not surprised by. Anyone who heard Tommy Burns speak would have come away thinking he's exactly the right man for the job. A real football man who knows the game inside out. He sounded a class act, and it was not to be impressed when he spoke.

Then the game would start, and it would be an utter disaster.

Rodgers was one of those odd appointments that looked the right one, but for some reason it just didn't work. He's done a pretty decent job at other clubs, to say the least, so it's hard to know why it went so wrong at Reading.

Lately though, we just seem to pick anyone that agent suggests, for managers and players.
