morganb Just wondering where you get the goal timings from as I was in the ground and the goal definitely went in in the 17th minute, this is also what Reading Twitter say. However BBC and Flash both say 18.

I use BBC timings

17:01 (for example) is the EIGHTEENTH minute.

Thanks. So by that logic 16:54 (as per the stadium screen when I glanced across as Meite was celebrating) is the SEVENTEENTH minute  (Thought it would be the BBC timings but was just curious so worth asking... And I predicted 16th minute anyhow)

and Swift...

ATM we award points for correct SCORER and extras for the time plus or minus 1

I do feel, tho', that we should award points for getting the time right, whoever the scorer

Something like
2 points for correct time (actual , +1 or -1)
2 points for first RFC scorer (correct half)
1 point for first RFC scorer (wrong half)

and maybe if people predict an opponent to score first and get the time right, they deserve more points

I'd be happy with the change of scoring (partly because that's how I thought it worked anyway!) See what the general consensus is.

(The timing of the first goal yesterday was also reported as 17 minutes on the EFL show and on Google but we now know that the BBC is the go to site - I imagined they all use the same source!)

FWIW BBC now report it as 17th minute.

As said, up to now it's been first READING Scorer couple with time.

Yesterday you'd get points for the right name (Meite) and a big bonus
for saying 17th, 18th or 19th minute (actual plus or minus 1)

For those not that close I give 2 points for Meite (predicted scoring in first half)
and one point if predicted as scoring our first in second half.

I feel we can award points for exact "BBC" minute for the first RDG goal,
even if we get the scorer wrong. (For example often the player didn't start)

So yesterday points could have been awarded for

5 Points for 17-18-19 AND correct player
2 Points for saying RDG goal would be scored in 18th (also 17/19)
2 Points for correct player, correct half
1 Points for correct player, wrong half

PLEASE NOTE.

First Reading Scorer = it doesn't matter if it's goal
number 5 in a 4-1 defeat or the opener 1-0. It is
just the first Reading player to score, end-of.

I should clarify OGs, I suppose.

If, say, Miazga scores an OG, that is not first Reading-scorer
because the goal is in the against column.

If first goal awarded to Reading is an opposition's own goal
then we'll ignore it unless a Nobber PREDICTED
the first Reading goal to be an OG

(TEN points for correct time,
five points if correct half,
two points otherwise)

If people predict opposition scoring first

3 Points for "exact time" (exact, plus one or minus one)
2 Points for correct half if "not exact"
1 point for correct first-team-to-score, wrong half

ATM we just award 1 point for first team to score, ignoring time
