It’s all just a bit odd. Certainly wouldn’t be so many questions if a Hughton or Howe was the replacement.

It’s an ambitious move and you get the feeling that only a playoff push will be sufficient in the owners eyes.

Ho hum. A good start to the season and all will be forgotten.

What happened to Stanojević? Was he sacked?

For the first time since Atkins I'm actually 100% behind this guy. I think he is gonna be raise our game significantly.
I think it's a good move by the club. I like Bowen but I just don't feel has has what it takes to take us to a level where we should be with this squad. There I've said it.

Anybody listen to the Radio Berkshire commentary by a Serbian (?) journalist about the new manager ? Apparently he likes to keep the ball on the deck at all costs and encourages his players to meditate for at least 30 minutes each day.Very worried that we have been down this path before;with dire consequences.I am guessing Hughton was never in the frame;as he is English and not a sexy foreign import and also wanted a bit more of a salary than ten bob ?If the transfer budget is no longer a problem; wouldn’t it have been cleverer for the Dai s to have pushed the boat out a bit more on remuneration for a proven manager and pull back a bit on the transfer budget.Fasten your safety belt,it’s going to be a stormy ride here on in.

Sounds rather familiar. We create few enough chances as it is.

Notts Royal My life...the Twitter replies to the official announcement! Absolute vitriol...as you’d expect.

Dai really is alienating the fans...he can oxf*rd off as far as I’m concerned

Yeah let's get rid of our owner and go bankrupt instead ... great idea.

Sell up to another owner is what I meant. Muppet

So what's the summary of the new bloke's management history and style?

Lol both of you have been down on Bowen and wanting him out for months. Don't try this bullshit of "I like him, but this seems a good move"

Based on the reviews from the Chicago fans, it won’t be long before he falls out with the players.

So his only strength is being allegedly good with some (younger) players, yet reviews suggests he falls out with players.

It just gets better and better.

Club can go oxf*rd itself at this point as far as I'm concerned.

Another half witted set of decisions showing no integrity, stability or plan. Another highly dubious appointment and this time we've got rid of a guy doing a good job to do it. Not the new guy's fault, apart from the fact he's willing to be part of this absolute shit show.

And we've appointed Bowen successor without any official announcement about him.

It’s times like this I pine to be back at Elm Park, treading water in the lower leagues. At least we new where we stood and life was a lot simpler. 1971 the club’s 100th anniversary, relegated for the first time. 2021 150 years?

We'll have to go some to be relegated with Wednesday on -12, plus Luton, Wycombe, Rotherham, Coventry, Barnsley, Birmingham and Stoke good candidates to struggle alongside us.

So it will certainly be a feat suitably impressive to celebrate 150 years with

You know me. I've been down on every manager since Adkins.....I think this is a positive move. I never wanted Bowen, Gomes, definatly not was furious at Clements appointment and Clarke seemed a small improvement and Stam never convinced me he cared enough for Reading. So I'm happy and you lot are not....1 home win this year clearly makes you think it's an improvement, me? I'm not happy. Bowen, and it's just an opinion, could not take this team further.
When I'm proved wrong, great fire away, but you can't criticize when theres no evidence that it's a bad move.

There's loads of evidence it's a terrible move.

That doesn't mean he's guaranteed to fail. And if the new guy somehow succeeds, and we get lucky on the gamble, that doesn't mean it was a good decision.

It's like betting your life savings on red at the casino and then trying to claim it was a great call if it comes off. It's still a oxf*rd awful decision, you just got lucky.

Pretty relaxed about it all tbh. Unknown foreigners have come over before and done a good job

I liked Bowen quite a lot tbh and wanted him to be given a go this season and I hope he stays on in some role

But happy to give the new chap a chance. Certainly not going to be losing sleep over it
