TiagoIlori Lucas Joao will probably not play the next game but Eddie has implied he will he back in time for Middlesbrough away. https://twitter.com/eddierfc7/status/13 ... 29536?s=21

reading the update tweet from 2 hours ago, it seems he might play on Saturday after all.

Watford play somewhat a similar system to Barnsley, the major differences being they’re more attacking until their first goal and then they like to protect their lead once they score (Ivic has had considerable success doing this before). Given Joao is injured and that we were fortunate Barnsley don’t have any bite I honestly am expecting Paunovic to change the system a bit. Will be interesting to see what he does if that is the case.

Potentially. I’d be surprised if he started considering his injury record though.

fair enough, it would obviously be a risk.

What is the latest on Araruna, Swift and Meite?

Meite is fine had a cramp. Swift will be out for a while. No one knows about Araruna yet.

NewCorkSeth Isn't it odd how, despite the realistic view of this upcoming game, most of us are excited about it regardless. Says a lot about the attitude of the supporters right now. This is a tough game but there is no doom and gloom and equally, no over reacting from our great start to the season. I really am enjoying this moment. Wish I could bottle it to save for the future.

For me, we've had a super start and got points in the bank. So this is a free hit. Points are great. Lose and it's a shrug, can't win em all and move on.

But then I'm still very much in the disillusioned, prove to me we're any good before I stake any emotional investment, mindset. Enjoying each victory as it comes without getting excited, one game at a time.

Think people will start getting properly excited if we manage a decent points return from the next two games, with Rotherham and Wycombe both at home coming up after the next two

You guys lack ambition.

We had 8 points by October last year and 9 the year before.

You didn't accept it as good enough then, why should we accept it as good enough now?

yep good news. could have been a lot worse

Good news indeed, obviously you want your best players fit all the time, but I think if there was a game he was going to miss, I am not too disappointed he is going to miss this one, seeing as I think we'd struggle to get anything from it anyway.

On the flip side, it probably gives Puscas a great opportunity to impress the new manager in a really tough game, if he can put in a performance.

If Joao doesn’t make it I hope we might see a plan B for the first time rather than just trying plan A with personnel that don’t fit it properly.

Agree, and it’s also nice to have had a good start if we lose I won’t feel too deflated and we still go into the break with nine points from twelve, a good springboard

Yeah this discussion is on topic isn't it? Don't see Leon wetting his pants over it though. Strange.

Just for those that might miss it elsewhere

Overseas supporters (including those who have a Seasonal Video Pass) should be aware that this game is not available to iFollow for them, as it has been selected for international broadcast.

Sounds like Joao is going to be assessed right before the match on Saturday with regards to his fitness.

I guess as its not a hammy or anything like that, he could probably play with it at 80% or at least be on the bench without too much risk of doing too much more damage.

Oh dear! Always a worry when the manager resorts to a double negative.

Quote from JLow's press conference:

"We’re not going to say we’re not looking for depth, we’re very happy with the guys we have.

If there are chances to improve our depth we’ll take a decision.

We have to focus on the next game and nothing else."

No more signings then????
