alfie9 People are seriously exaggerating how boring this game was. It was lower tempo than our previous games but the team was still trying to attack and having shots... it was nowhere tear the turgidness of our worst Stamball performances.

Agreed. Yes we struggled to break down Boro but we played all the football and the passing was excellent at times. First half we were competely dominant. Holmes did very well once again in particular. We looked entirely comfortable in defence (apart from the Moore clearance off the line) and it's a very good point away from home. You could see the disappointment in only a point at full time. This team is so motivated and it's great to see.

This is contradictory. If you can see the disappointment in only a point then it’s not a very good point. It’s a consolation prize.

About the owner going for it. We’ve not sold Olive Swift Moore Puscas and we’ve brought in a couple Semedo Esteves Laurent. All despite some sort of soft transfer embargo. We’ve got a new manager new coach new CEO. I think he’s going for it and why not, there’s no stand out clubs this year. URZ!

Definitely have proven our defensive side is very good. My main concern is the lack of creativity, Warnock knew he couldn’t let Joao be on his own and he had men swarming him any time he was on the ball. Inevitably our players got frustrated and took long shots outside the box. Hopefully Pauno finds a way to get more fluidity in our attack.

Good that we can go away and not concede which says a lot for the defensive side of our game.
There is something about being a team that's hard to beat.
Long may that continue and hopefully gone are the days when our defenders would all be looking around at each other wondering how yet another soft goal has somehow gone in.

A great start to the season and something to build on as the season progresses and with confidence we might gradually get a bit more expansive and create more than just the occasional chance.

Warnock shows us great respect by changing his team to stop us playing. Pauno has to prove that he is equally as good in this regard.

Not necessarily - if 23 teams have to change to stop us, we'll have a very good season without having to change

We aren't prolific scorers. Yet to go behind this season.

Yesterday was a better than OK performance and result. This is a marathon;if we can now put the peddle down with two relatively easy games to play then we will be in a very good place.

strangely not coincidental that our defence looks much more solid now that is has two proper midfielders in front of it providing protection. Swift just doesn't do that when he plays deeper, which he did for large parts of last season

Read the post again ... the disappointment was shown by the squad, which shows they want / expect to win every game. Us fans may be happy with the point. So I don't see any contradiction there.

Partnership seems to have formed very quickly. Laurent looks a gem of a find.
