Barnsley I was a bit disappointed with given the rave reviews they have been getting. They looked to be a decent championship side playing the percentages well and on good form but no more than that.

Given their budget for players. Says a lot for the management of the club and their recruitment policy.

TBF I don’t think he got a lot wrong.

Then your sight is as poor as your punctuation and spelling.

Surely a wind up from Westwood?

Don't think the ref got a lot wrong either.

Yiadom had is arm round the guy's neck. Yeah, he's gone down easy and was never getting the ball, but the ref was looking right at it. You can't do that. What else did he get wrong? Carded a few players. Didn't see much that was clearly a wrong call.

Agree. Ref was actually OK.

Yeah gotta agree, he did let a lot of things slide but he was consistent about it, that benefited Barnsley but he didn't really do much wrong.

Absolutely valid goal there. Thanks Lino

Hi Don,

You're a cnut.

It didn't even cross the line ffs.

Most definitely did.

Enough half infringements to justify it being disallowed, but don’t think could have argued if given.

Mate, Yiadom had his arm round the blokes neck for no reason. You are asking for trouble doing that especially as given where the ball was the ref will be looking at you. In rugby, that could if even be a red card these days that's how stupid it was.

We dropped two points today due to 2 moments of stupidity as we contained Barnsley and gave them nothing apart from the pen.

I don't care if Yiadom gave the lad a Stone Cold Stunner. He was never getting anywhere near the ball and you see that sort of jostling in every game. Holmes cleared it and the ball was gone, never a penalty and this ref should've been struck off the day he missed the assault on Oliveira.

Literally nothing you've said there has any bearing on the fact that Yiadom pulled the guy back by his throat in the box. None.

Doesn't matter if they were having a go at each other the ehole game and the ref misses 99% of it. You don't pull back a guy by the throat in the box because at best you are just hoping the ref misses that too. Do it in the centre circle, corner wherever but not in the box. Stupid.

Since watching/listening on IFollow , it is noticeable how Yiadom is extremely niggly during games. Not dirty, but plays close to the edge. been several opposition commentators that have picked this up.

Not pulling up play for obvious fouls is not good reffing imo, consistent or otherwise. Unless we have a team of divers

Nah. The defender blocked off Cabral and backed him into the goal

Just remembered my first thought when I saw the team sheet last night...WTF did Gibson start in front of Richards? Is it because we know Richards is moving on in the summer? But then the same could be said for Gibson

Something to do with being more physical. Richards should have started regardless, but Gibson had a decent game.

When you wake up the next day and think that miss was a horrible dream until it dawns on you that it did happen, I still can`t believe a professional footballer could miss that.

Gibson was fairly solid but offers nothing going forward. Richards needs to start v Derby.

Hopefully not. He’s looked decidedly average...slightly better than Esteves. But Holmes has looked better than both of them and he’s one of our own.

Holmes plays in a different position to Gibson though so not sure why he’s mentioned,
If you had said McIntyre, who covers the same position as Gibson, then ok.
Even then we need to have a squad, not just a starting eleven.
But I would still want a specialist attacking left back to replace Richards....

Their manager said that in the second half our coaching staff were speaking to the ref and the Barnsley staff in a ‘language he understands’ and were using inappropriate words.
Now we have a fairly multicultural bench, Pauno speaks about 5 languages and we then have Portuguese, Arikaans / S African languages and Gaelic speakers potentially. I guess the big question is which of these would they use to communicate with the ref in ?
The Barnsley manager presumably speaks French and German and I think Pauno speaks German too. Can’t see Valerian knowing much Russian , Macedonian or Serbian and he’s never played in Spain.
So why would Pauno be shouting obscenities at a ref in German ? Or how would Valerian know Macedonian swear words ?
All sounds very odd and smacks of some kind of misunderstanding. Was Gomes shouting at our Portugesespeaking players and Valerian thought he heard a bad word in French ?

Holmes is completely fearless and committed. He will stick his head anywhere!

Gibson was very narrow yesterday. Almost a third centre back, which is fine is Ovie is tracking back but we were a bit overloaded at times.

I think we can start Puscas when Meite is in the team as there’s the additional physical presence.

Pity Morrison re-did his hammie. Could do with him in the run in especially with TMac out for the rest of the season.

That disallowed "goal"

First, the heavy set striker 'went looking for" Cabral. You can see him take a quick glance
and then he shoves his ass backward and puts his arm or arms out. That is a foul IMO
and secondly also obstruction. There is also a clear handball which aids a different striker
before the ball goes over the line.

But what I really wanna say is the utter dog's-breath, classless clusterfukc shambles
on the post. Anyone count the number of players in the melee?

Barnsley should be docked 90 points for crimes against football

Just UGH!

PS Isn't it about time they changed the laws for corners. The idea that it's OK to simply block goalies from moving is anti-football.

How about a "two yard line" where all outfielders can't step over until the ball is kicked?
