Brogue
Jagermesiter1871 Brogue has had an utter mare with this one. However I like to think that Pauno hung the first 3 pages of this thread up in the dressing room as motivation.

:| Think you’ve had a few to many of your jäger’s. Either that or you’re thick as fuck. I’m going with the latter.

Both. It is past 11am on a Sunday tbf.

Snowflake Royal Fair play to stranded, whose seemingly at times blind optimism called the improvement.

Though I still think its more down to Southwood's arrival and Moore's brief absence than anything predictable.

Yeh definitely nothing to do with the manager. He's only responsible when we're doing badly.

He's stuck with Southwood when he could easily have dropped him. He's maintained faith in what we're doing going forward and he's shuffled his midfield pack well.

But key to me was stopping the defensive panic stations. And imo that's the serendipity of Cabral punching a white board and Moore's injury, combined with Laurent being a defensive revelation (now that last bit is management choice)

Sounds like we're in agreement then; he's made fantastic management choices, albeit some forced. He still could easily have ballsed it up and played academy players in place of Moore for example. Presumably he saw Laurents competence as a CB in training etc.

I honestly don't know if Pauno is a decent manager or whether we've just somehow struck it lucky with all our signings. I mean - he clearly has some ability to get us winning given the circumstances at the moment.

It's irrelevant to me though as I strongly believe in manager continuity - regardless of how spells of 5-6 games are going.

The current run does remind me a bit of the start of last season. We are not playing particularly well but have been mainly clinical in front of goal.
Also only one draw so far this season.

I'm not sure you strike that lucky with signings. I think there was some skill and expertise exercised here. I wonder how much input VP and his management team had.

Personally, I think that given the backing required (which the owners are clearly providing to the extent that the EFL permit) VP is a pretty good coach and manager.

Priorities are always going to be where the biggest paydays are
Difficult to argue with that approach given the job he's chosen

The game so far is another fluke that can’t be counted if we go on to win.

Discount this game and Pauno out

Can I suggest a special contract with Pauno where he stays when we win, is sacked when we lose but back in if we win again?

This'll keep us all happy.

Reminds me of Dire Straits!

Pauno still in. I can't see what he did wrong. Even finally learnt to put 2 up front when we were chasing the game. A bit of common sense - a first! Our players are just tired/shit.

Anotehr injury.

Panuo in, as I keep saying medical team out!
