Most of what you say is spot on but I have to say I disagree re Dorsett. He made 4 or 5 last ditch blocks or tackles which most likely would have been goals otherwise. It was just a shame about the own goal which blotted the performance as it looked avoidable. But overall I thought he looked very promising.

He did, but then I think the last ditch tackles were often a result of not dealing with an initial situation.

Might be being a bit harsh, but Antonio was all over him in the air as well. But Antonio is a very good PL striker so no shame there

He definitely has attributes and he won't come up against the likes of Antonio very often. But just felt he was a fair way behind Holmes and TMc at the moment. But I believe he is very young still (18?) so plenty of time to get better

It was a very tough game for him to be involved in as they were cutting through us at will so he was constantly under pressure. I thought he coped pretty well. It was worrying seeing how easily they passed through us from central positions and found acres of space down our left flank.

Well yes - that was his side. How much of that was due to him, and how much due to the LB, or even the CMs difficult for me to say.

A bit of everything I feel. We just looked really stretched and struggled to cope with Bowen’s runs.

again, no real shame in that. He is a class above the champ. Rafael did pretty well to sweep up 3 or 4 times

Zip 0-3 at FT. Sham really should have scored a fair few more. Our left flank was a problem all game with Sham always finding players in loads of space. Bowen caused no end of problems for us but his finishing was poor.
Rafael did well as did Dorsett. I was underwhelmed by the triallists.

We really do need to strengthen and given that Derby can now do so I will be a bit peeved if we can’t.

DerbyshireLive two days ago:
Derby, though, can still only sign free agents on one-year contracts or players on six-month loans.

The way I understood things, we were already in that position and have been for some time.

Hound So back from the actual game….

First half we did ok. Not much threat but yes Azeez is one to watch. He looked good and played pretty well. Just looked a tidy footballer all round.

Dorsett I thought was not so great - but then he was up against Antonio who is a beast - brilliant in the air. Not too sure what he did that seems to be getting the praise. Could be a good player but a way off yet. Rino and Laurent did well, swift played some nice stuff, ejaria was poor tonight

Moore has made a career with us out of poor positioning and defending leading to a last ditch tackle or block to get out of danger, so I don't see why Dorsett shouldn't

Brogue BBC Berks not doing commentary tonight? How come? They usually cover friendly matches especially home ones

Last season BBC Berks. started to finish the football programme at 10'clock, wheras, before they carried on for 30 minutes or more. I did wonder then, have Radio Berkshire got a new boss, who dosen't like football? Or is it a decree from on high (or London) that "Thou shall not muck up the schedule"? Does anyone know if other local stations started to finish at exactly 10pm, where they used to run over the following programme?

Bristow and Tetek start today. Both trialists on the bench.

Following a great cross from ‘can’t cross’ Yiadom.

Initial header brought a good save but picked up the loose ball and danced round a couple of defenders before rolling in

We should be ok in League One in the 22/23 season on the evidence of today's performance.

Lol.

That left back chap looks OK. Lol @ him taking the free kick with Ejaria on the pitch though.

Missed the first 70 and then missed their goal getting up to put something in the bin.

Watched around 30 mins on and off

Looked a lot better than we did against West Ham but no surprise there. Bristow looked better, Charlton didn’t offer much. Tetek almost scored when he hit the inside of the post

Undoubtedly need reinforcements. Didn’t have much up front. Midfield looked pretty good. Rafael seems more comfortable on the ball but that might just be because these are friendlies

From the bits I I saw Morrison knocked the ball out from the back nicely with some good crossfield balls, Ejaria took his goal well although it looked like he had overdone it and Swift is not a false nine. We really lacked a striker.
Didn’t see the equaliser.

We should have Puscas, TMac and Holmes available for Palace assuming Puscas hasn’t been loaned out. Moore is at least getting match fit playing in tournament football.

Suspect that Puscas is sadly another signing that hasn't worked out. Hopefully the money constraints will mean that new additions are carefully selected and slot into the style of play.

Not been a disaster by any means - 18 goals in about 60 games isn’t it? But yeah not quite as good as hoped
