Would be shocked if we're not top of the league going into September.

I'll reserve judgement until I see what our squad is like.

I can only forsee a struggle next season if our squad remains the same as it is now.

Stranded That's a pretty decent set of opening games isn't it? You would hope that before we head to Fulham that we could have 12-16 points on the table.

Obviously we have no idea what the team will look like or indeed what the opposition will look like but 4 very winnable home games and a chance to pick up some points on the road too.

Agree, easy run to start. Should easily be top six by the time we meet Fulham

You're a very optimisitc man.

Yep, but you look at those fixtures in isolation and you can make a case for winning all 7 of the opening games but 4 wins is not beyond us.

If after those 7, we are on 10 points or less, it could be a very long winter.

The next month will determine everything. Should we lose Moore, Olise, Meite etc I can only see pain and suffering. Fortunately for us it would appear nobody has any money, especially at Championship level so we could be in the same boat as the majority of the teams in the division. Relying on the youth coming through and hoping for the best.

Went down the list, and thought initially that’s a good start;then as I kept going I realised the Championship this season isn’t exactly high on quality .There are a lot of teams who will rely on organisation and for want of a better word sheer grit.I think West Brom will be in front;but even Fulham and Sheffield Utd may struggle to impose themselves.
If we can just keep the core of last season’s team;we should be able to keep out of trouble.

Yep, and surely any team that wins seven out of the first eight league matches in a season is guaranteed promotion... - ah!

I'd have to say its a comfortable start, if Reading are in trouble by end of September then really cant see how theyll get out of it. April doesnt look very friendly though.

Must admit I looked at that fixture list and there’s no one to fear really is there. Even with a transfer embargo, I think we’ll be mid-table at least.

Wonder when we’ll be allowed to go to away games

PieEater Away to Stoke on the opening day. Away on boxing day and home for NY games.

Disappointing not to have a home game on Boxing Day.

Doesn't Ian live near Peterborough? Could go to his for Xmas Day and stay over?

Not as annoyed at this as other people are - am I right in thinking away fans are still not allowed for the foreseeable? At least a home draw guarantees being able to actually go to a match!
