Well done. Obviously you couldn't do it when it was me saying it, but nice to see you can manage with someone else.

paultheroyal Let’s see if there was no adverse reaction first. I for one am absolutely delighted meite is showing a fast recovery. Rubbish comment was based on my own experience. That’s not been arrogant.

But yep, you were correct and happy to take that one on the chin.

Fair play. I do think it’s a useful illustration of why we shouldn’t put our personal experience ahead of rigorous data, but it’s something we’re all guilty of sometimes - you were just unlucky enough to be wrong in a thread that has remained topical. I “cheated” somewhat by ruling nothing out, but I think that’s just sensible when predicting the future. And I think being concerned about him being rushed is legitimate.

I can think of two times I made similar mistakes on here that I think everyone else has forgotten about. Firstly when they cancelled the first football matches due to COVID-19 I said it was because Callum Hudson-Odoi had sneezed, which was intended to be flippant but aged very poorly. The second was a few weeks/months later when I insisted to Snowball that COVID could go extinct if we had the political willpower to lock down long and hard enough, which is true (it’s also true of the common cold), but ignores all factors other than politics that make that extremely difficult, like needing food or care.

Anyway, sorry for making you eat crow, it wasn’t very gentlemanly.

good stuff

did say McIntyre was only training on his own, not in a group. So can't see him being back for Saturday, even on the bench - maybe the Bristol game

injury update:

• Meite and McIntyre will need games with the U23s.

• Ejaria should be involved on Saturday.

• Tetek pulled his hamstring. It's major and long term.

• Halilovic and Dann out for around 4 weeks.

• Azeez set to be out for 8 weeks. (earlier rumour about being back in training was apparently just internet speculation)

not clear from the quotes in the chronicle whether thats 4 weeks/8 weeks from now or from the injury

Being as it said Hal's is lesser grade than before - he shouldn't be out longer than he was

Good to ovie back at least. And Meite and McIntyre hopefully for Bristol

Daily Mail saying we have a BCD friendly with Arsenal when they return from Dubai so bound to be more minutes for likes of Meite and maybe McIntyre.

That's still 7 first team players in some capacity. Tetek, Azeez, Halilovic and Dann are not ideal. It probably would be wise for the club to push through a move for another player or two before Monday hopefully.

Still stacks out this weekend then.

Hoilett
Moore
Araruna
Meite
TMac
Dann
Halilovic
Tetek
Azeez

For Brizzle no excuses. Hoilett and Moore should be fit although whether Moore is available is another matter. TMac and Meite should be available too.

Strange re Azeez, would he be posting a pic on insta doing ball work if he was out for 8 weeks?

Helilovic - I got the impression reading what was said is that it was a 4 week injury rather than 4 weeks from now.

Cold do with Dann back as much as anyone

Halilovic was supposed to be close for last Saturday. Not sure how accurate all of this is.

Wasn't there an update saying the injury timelines above were from when the injury happened.

expecting all but Azeez, Tetek and Araruna available for Bristol still - further injuries possible of course before then

And only Azeez would prob be in my first 18 of those, and then on the bench and quite likely not to come on

Azeez - March

More game time for Meite and possibly MacIntyre I would think.
