URZZZZ
Snowflake Royal Shame. Was an absolutely solid Champ midfielder who kept it simple and did his job. And an Academy graduate. Brilliant attitude.

We now have to sign an entire midfield.

Anyone thinking we can replace him and Laurent easily is living in lalaland.

No-one thinks we can replace them easily

Keeping one of those two may have been the ideal situation but people are just making the point that isn’t the disaster that others are making out given their performances in the last year

Aside from the last two months (in which Drinkwater was the stand out midfielder in that period) the midfield was bypassed and dominated game on game

Nothing wrong with a refresh as long there’s a clear plan and structure ahead

That's us oxf*rd based on the last 11 years.

So we have lost 2 holding midfielders neither who did their jobs properly if you look at how many goals we conceded last term particularly on the break.

Swift way bigger loss

Yeah

They will be replaced - we’ve got a team of coaches now in place, some chap from Spurs on transfers and no doubts spending plenty of time on phones etc to get people in

There’ll be loads of prem players looking for a loan to a champ club with a good chance of first team footy and no doubt a load of useful free agents as well

Not ‘easy’ to replace but we will do so

Rino played less than half the games last season for those blaming him for how bad our midfield was.

"Better the devil you know" and "be careful what you wish for" are two phrases that come to mind.

With the restrictions we have in place there is very little chance we will do better than Rinomhota and Laurent. Not sure why anyone is happy to lose them, especially for nothing.

We’ve done really well to keep hold of Yiadom.

Was disappointed to lose Laurent. Rinomhota I don't care 2 hoots about. Works hard but in truth is bang average. No real loss, probably on cheapish wages. Tetek needs to step up this season.

Yeah it contributed - again another reason why I’m not that bothered as he barely played last year

Not happy but not that bothered either

Would have been ok with keeping both but always unlikely they’d re-sign, esp Laurent. Certainly not going to get upset now when had written them off months ago

I`m wondering why all the kids on social media (I know) have consigned us to relegation at the prospect of losing a player that hardly appeared for us last year,
Sometimes words fail me , they really do.

To lose one midfielder may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose all four looks like carelessness.

Personally think Rino would be a big loss. Been a massive fan of his, love his energy & is a solid 7/10 performer.

Maybe some of that is fan bias but I personally think it’s another big loss for us

It's alright, we've still got Ejaria for midfield.

If we had 11 Ejaria's in our side we'd be going to the Premier League.

I'm really surprised at the ambivalence on here from some about losing Rino.

He works hard, brings energy, bursts forward, has a willingness to tackle and to get the ball and move it on and has been sacrificed to play in many different positions. He may never be a 'star man', but he's always consistent, good and over the season will average higher than most if we want to go for ratings out of 10 per game.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think replacing him will be possible at all with our wage structure/ transfer situation and he's one I'd push the limits to sign.

When you are trying to restructure the wage bill unfortunately it’s inevitable you will get painful losses like this. Not in ideal shape in the short term, but in the long term it’s essential for safeguarding the clubs financial stability.

The transfer embargo is biting hard. We have lost our three first choice midfielders to Championship rivals. Can’t remember if and when this last happened.
It’s all about staying in the division next season. If we do then it’s be a good season.
