Not a massive fan of the club for a multitude of reasons but that is some result and achievement to make the final.

F-T was 0-0 Ascot by far the better team- Wycombe mightily disappointing. Great atmosphere throughout the game.
Ascot won 3-1 on PENS with Wycombe missing 3 and Ascot 2.

Was gonna go to that. Thought the Yellamen might have taken a beating but that is surprising.

Well to be fair I have had little dealings with their mens side, more the club as a whole that annoy me. Had numerous run ins with their various youth side coaches over the years, very arrogant coaches and players at youth level.

I would think bound to be same as U 23’s - ie free as well at the stadium.

Unbelievably bad decision by the Berks and Bucks FA in coming up with the date for the final.
Saturday May 7th 3pm KO at Slough Town.
Our game at Luton does start at 12.30pm so not a direct clash.(obviously have to win Monday 1st)

Agreed (from 10-15 years ago, I wouldn't know what they are like now).

1-0 6 mins Camara- bullet of a shot !!
H-T 1-0
The Craig playing for Reading is apparently Michael Craig age 18 who left Tottenham at the end of Feb and was linked to a move to Southampton.
2-0 53 mins Leavy- another cracking shot
3-0 59 mins Scott- another brilliant goal.
4-0 62 mins Clarke- another well worked goal ending in a curling shot into the far corner.

Great performance. Suspect the gap between the sides was bigger than the gap between our first teams. They came hoping to grind out a result and once our second went in their heads dropped.

As Racers says, excellent goals - hard to pick the best but I’d go with Scott, who pressed hard, won the ball, took on another defender and curled it into the top corner. Then spent the rest of his time on the pitch going down with cramp, doing a sprint, and going down with cramp again

Hard to comment much given the quality of the opposition, but we were tenacious, pressed well, and had some really good movement. On another day we’d have made the scoreline embarrassing, but too often we got caught overplaying it, or we just didn’t challenge the keeper enough. We were very comfortable.

I really like Abrefa, he’s a proper modern full back. Camara had the best game I have seen, and Scott was dangerous, really good turn of pace. Between those three for MOTM. Didn’t know who Craig was but on the basis of that performance he’s a real player, kept things ticking over and kept us secure while the forwards were doing their thing.

Should have read all i said earlier and you would have known who Craig is :D i really like Holzman- for his age he is a real prospect. I do know that Jake Cooper ( related) has been helping him develop.

That explains why Cooper was sat in the stands then!

Agree it was a good performance, every player looked confident on the ball, good team work, no little skill. The energy levels were extremely high, almost as if they had taken a bit of Noel Hunt DNA and injected it into the players. Chasing and pressing right to full time. The number of times we robbed MK players of the ball was incredible.
It was good to see Abbey back, was a very calm presence at the back and while him and Holzman were hardly pressured they looked very assured.
Not sure I have seen a game with 4 such quality goals ! Fairer reflection on the game would probably have been another 4.

Attendance given as 430
Thing i find strange is that MK team must be well below PL 2 standard as the same group of players( few have come back from injury i agree) have really struggled in the division this season and are rock bottom. What was encouraging was that Noel Hunt’s influence is starting to show.

Dons are a Cat 3 academy and have to compete with Watford and Luton for local players. Imagine they struggle to recruit the South London boys who bulk out our academy, and if they do get someone good then holding onto them is difficult.

Atm our sides are among the worst in Category 1, but we’re still Category 1. It’s like the gap between Norwich’s first team and League One.
