Sutekh Found the ground shot below from around 1973, note the official capacity of EP then!

John Hulme was a central defender who arrived from Bolton in 1972 and returned “oop north”, to Bury, after just a couple of seasons, John sadly passed away in 2008 aged just 63.

Anyone buy a new house from Cooks?

As a youngster, I was star-struck when John Hulme moved in up the road from me in Meadow Road, Earley.

Franchise FC I think there’s a good chance I’m in the second one … with Lux

I think I can see myself in 2,3 and 4. Same jumper on too, so same day.

I’d say 1977?

Sutekh Anyone know the backstory here?

WAGs

Or more likely Robin Friday living-up to his promises from the night before.

always loved that picture.

Taken from the inside front cover of ‘programme sized’ magazine of its day (the name of which, escapes me)

Sutekh Good aerial view of EP sometime in its final years. Hard to believe players did some of their training in the car park behind the away end at some point.

I used to go to school with Ian Branfoot's daughter and occassionally hanged out. Got to know Ian personally as he lived in Tadley. Through a school project he arranged for us and a mate to spend a day with Reading FC. He picked us up and took us there. (wouldnt be able to do that now for sure). Weather was awful so they were not allowed to train on pitch. I was amazed that the alternative was that car park. They had a full on 7 v 7 match going on, diving around on wet gravelly hard tarmac. Likes of Gary Westwood diving around and Dean Horrix etc sliding in. Madness. This was in the mid 80's.

They trained in car park directly behind the south bank.

View from another angle. What a player Jimmy Quinn was. Just pure class.

Bournemouth 27.11.93. Won 3-0. Quinn 2, Gooding. Picture is of Quinn's first, a far post header buried. His second was a superb lob on the run from miles out.

Autographed by the man himself and Matt Busby's last game as a player before taking over some struggling northern club.
