Dayong Pang

by Royal_jimmy » 12 Jan 2022 08:52

Here is a thought. What does this person actually do as our CEO? I've hardly heard a single word from him about the ambitions for the club going forward.

He has no football track record, we have absolutely no footballing people leading the club. It's no surprise we are a shambles.

No mention of football in the above list, perhaps it's not a required skill for CEO at Reading?

Out of interest does Pauno have a LinkedIn page? Just wondering what he's good at... If he doesn't then perhaps Hobnob could give him a hand knocking one up as he may be needing one soon

It's a fair point, thinking about my employer the role of CEO covers many areas
1. Steering the business/setting goals and direction, setting priorities and making quick decisions.
2. Rallying the troops so they buy into this, supporting them where necessary and encouraging them to make improvements/backing their ideas.
3. Selling the company vision to customers via the media, maybe apologizing where we have not met customer expectations but also selling the dream/vision of where we are going and offering reassurances...... Yes, this could take the form of a press officer writing the press releases or a representative doing the media talks instead, but the CEO would be involved in all this.

As far as I can see, our CEO is just a paper CEO, someone taking the money and signing things. Certainly 3 above isn't happening.

I believe he made his name by writing those really well-written manuals for cheap Chinese goods.

I understand the point about not being vocal enough with the fans in general, but is he not the spokesperson for the board (usually) when they eventually decide to make statements? Such as during the summer and after out points deduction? I could be wrong and it's still not really acceptable.

I actually fear for our future, non football men running the club, we don't own the stadium or the training ground, a mass exodus in the summer. the short term future looks bleak.
If the Chinese do a runner-and they have previous-the very existence of the club could be called into question.
