If we go down, how long til we’re back?

Should have read *when we go down* but trying to be positive innit.

Self-explanatory poll, interesting* to gauge people’s opinions on relegation.

Somewhere between 1 and 35 seasons depending on how we react and who is in charge

Doubt we'd make an immediate return considering we'd haemorrhage players and there'd be limits on recruitment.

It would take a long time and may involve another relegation.

The only man that can save us is Ian Royal.

35 seasons is a long time.

That's only if Dai stays and appoints Boris Johnson as manager for life whilst moving Pauno up to CEO

Seriously, I'd say most likely 3 to 6 seasons.

I think it’s extremely naïve to think we would be back up in any time period
If we go down, I’d settle for not going down again next season

Yeah the owners will gladly stay and be as supportive.

The academy will continue to run as it is, attracting top youngsters.

Our best players won't be continuously poached.

We'll continue to attract top managers.

We might struggle against Champ sides at the moment but lower league sides are nothing for our boys. Our academy will have the league for breakfast.

Everything will be the same and we'll be back up in the next few years.

With all the players leaving in the summer, I think there's a good chance we'd drop into League Two. If we can survive that first season we may be ok. A lot of similarities with Wigan. When they went down they barely had a team left. Stayed up by the skin of their teeth, rebuilt and are now challenging. Could easily go either way.

At least 5 years including a relegation to league 2. Much longer if we come back as AFC Reading.

I am still relatively confident that we could stay up. Sort out this Moore mess, get the players back from the African cup thing, and have a few more of the injured players back.
Long way to go, so I would like to see a "not going down this season option please sir" :D

Dunno. The standard is well done in that division

We might recruit well and done stronger back up.

Reckon a couple of seasons

Our current crop of youngsters are shit and most will have a career in non-league bar maybe 3 or 4 of them.

Last time we were in the 3rd tier 20 years ago it took 4 seasons. That time Madejski was in charge and running the club better than the shambles that Dai has been running us. We were relegated because of a poor team but at the top we weren't in the mess we are in now.

We will be down there a while if it happens this season, I see us doing a Coventry or a Bolton rather than a Norwich or Wolves. A few years ago we would have been one of the biggest, if not the biggest clubs in league one. Now there's lots of big clubs in that league with so much competition.

Competing with the possible likes of Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Charlton, Barnsley, Peterborough, Portsmouth, maybe Sunderland etc. And there's solid teams like Wycombe and Wigan who will be up there.

Ipswich fans were saying they'd smash league one when they went down, they've not got a playoff place once in the last 3 years since relegation.

We would be starting with a new team probably a bunch of unproven kids so I think relegation again is more likely in my view.

I'd compare us more to Charlton, our recent history is very similar except that they had longer at the top than us.

I'm just talking purely in terms of the state of the squad dropping into League One.
