No coming back now for Moore unfortunately, hopefully we can shift him on this window as getting his wages off the books would be a massive help. My first FM22 save file this year was with ourselves and the first player I sold was Moore. He was on £30k a week there and out of the 6 players we brought in during the summer, they were all earning (or being paid on loan) £6k a week. So his wages are essentially worth 5 other players going off that. Even if it meant bringing in 2/3 loans of freebies until the summer if we could, that would go a long way, as well as potentially renewing a contract or two.

For the remainder of this season I'd give it to Laurent. Then depending on who we have left come the summer and the division we play in would determine who we give the captaincy to. Hopefully Laurent stays beyond this summer as well and he can retain the captaincy next season.

There's nothing unfortunate about there being no way back for him

The unfortunate part is that he's a good player that we are potentially losing, but the circumstances are right for him to move on and I'm confident we would be better off without him.

There is. With him going and Rafael gone, who are we going to blame for losing now?

True, he's been poor this season and was quite average last season, but certainly one of the better CB's in the league on his day.

Under different circumstances, he'd be a player I wouldn't want to lose.

Pauno and Dai are still here, more's the pity.

Don't forget Ejaria. If this Covid thing with him continues then he is going to start getting pelters soon.

Hound Not sure it matters a huge amount tbh.

But it’ll prob be Laurent til end of season I reckon

This.
Of no consequence at all even if the statement from the club made quite a big thing about Moore and his role.

In football generally it is just a matter of calling at the toss however at top clubs the role is much more to do with a link from the club to the media but still has very little to do with what happens on the pitch.

Reading FC has big problems but who should be captain is somewhere near the bottom of the list.

I get the impression that most clubs are highly regulated with their players. Expectations that they will be a certain places at specific times and they very clear training plans and diets. Large part of the Captains role is to help ensure that players keep to these regimes.

Don't think fitness record should be a factor.

Everyone in the squad has been injured for lengthy periods, or soon will be.

If fitness isn't a consideration, maybe nor should being a current member of the squad
Can I change my vote to McAnuff? Afterall, almost the whole squad will be ex-RFC soon anyway.

WoodleyRoyal Would rather we didn’t sign him at all to be honest. Way over rated, went missing after about November and you could count number of good games he had all season on one hand.

Laurent - no brainer. Dead cert starter, rarely injured, passionate and vocal.

joking aside an’ all that…….if being on the pitch isn’t too much of a consideration, then yes why not? Could even bring back Hicksie

Morrison when he’s fit, if not fit then Laurent.

Then sort it out in the summer when you have some clue about which players are still on the books.
