Southwood

Shape? 4-3-3?

Arguably 4-4-2 with Meite wide midfield switching flanks as and when needed.

Just Meite switching flanks with Rahman and Yids overlapping as and when.
The problem is if we are playing two CDM’s and two strikers and playing Swift there won’t be a balance. That’s the downside. Swift has to be central.

I saw a team mentioned today with Joao as a lone striker where you can bring Hoilett in and down one flank with Meite on the other flank. That would work. It would have balance but am reluctant to go down that route as I think Puscas and Joao can work well as a pair.

Southwood

Holmes
Morrison
McIntyre
Rahman

Yiadom
Laurent
Rino
Meite

Joao
Clarke

Subs: Hein, Swift, Ejaria, Dann, TDB, Halilovic, Puscas.

4-4-2, no intricate bollocks in our own half, get it down the line, beat the defenders with Meite on the left and Yids on the right and just whip balls into their box all game into two 6ft4 lads. Easy.

Extra couple of players may help but I still think Paunovic would find a way to lose

Wouldn't be against it, think he has played there before? Although I think the ref might have something to say about us playing 13 players :)

Interesting idea. Mine was similar to what you said you saw but with Hal instead of Hoilett in a tight call.

Thinking about my selection it could go 3-5-2. Yids, Morrison and McIntyre as a back three. Push Rahman to a more advanced role down the left. Meite down the right. Rino and Laurent as CDM’s. Swift ahead of them pulling the strings with Joao and Puscas up top.

I think that team would offer a real attacking threat but would be heavily reliant on Rino and Laurent sitting in front of the back three and remaining disciplined ie not pushing forward.
