Silver Fox 24 (for now)

In other words, despite us losing 5-0, we are still closer to safety than we were at 2.59pm yesterday.............

Down to 22 now (28 if -6).

And with the run if games Wigan & Huddersfield have coming up, that could tumble quickly.

Parkys Wrexhams 4-0 win standing top 4 points clear 84 points. Gotta give him a chance.

I think so, (he might even bring a few players with him) he certainly would give back some identity to the club and supporters.

I doubt any of Wrexham's players could step up to the championship

And you know we can’t pay Wrexham any compensation to get him this season? And we might still be under an embargo next.

Check out their recent performance against Sheff United in the cup certainly put us to shame.

What's the wording in his contract?

Probably not worth another thread but here are the next 6 games for us and the bottom 3 - takes us up to Easter Monday games:

Reading

Millwall (h)
Blackburn (a)
Hull (h)
Bristol City (a)
Birmingham (h)
Preston (a)

Huddersfield

WBA (a)
Norwich (h)
Millwall (a)
Middlesborough (h)
Watford (a)
Blackburn (h)

Blackpool

Bristol City (a)
QPR (h)
Coventry (h)
Preston (a)
Cardiff (h)
Luton (a)

Wigan

Burnley (a)
Coventry (h)
Watford (a)
QPR (h)
Sheff Utd (a)
Swansea (h)

Looking at that - Blackpool have the most favourable run, probably followed by us.

Wigan's next 5 - 4 are very tough, they will target QPR naturally - Huddersfield are completely screwed - they failed to score in either of their "easier" games this week and you can make a strong case for 6 straight defeats there.

My estimate for points over that run - though at least 1 of the 4 sides below will do better and 1 probably worse.

Reading 7pts
Blackpool 7pts
Wigan 5pts
Huddersfield 2pts

Which assuming a 6pt deduction would leave the table as below with 5 to go (ignoring other sides):

Reading 45
Blackpool 39
Wigan 37
Huddersfield 34

and a magic number of 10.

That's one game. It's easy to raise your game in a one off match. We beat Liverpool in the FA cup in 2010, does that mean we were premier league quality back then?

Hopefully we can avoid it going down to the last game of the season, but certainly the likes of QPR, Birmingham, Rotherham and others can get dragged right in if they either continue with their current form (QPR, Brum) or hit a bad spell.

Although I still can't see any of the bottom 3 getting out of it.

Looking at them run of games and who faces who - win those 3 home games we are pretty much safe with points deduction. Anything else a bonus.

This magic number business, maybe also worth dividing by the number of games we have left to determine how many points per game we need to get to stay up and also have a with and without a 6 point deduction.

Or just say 4 wins and we are safe.

On current form, wins might not be the best measure

3 wins = 12 points, 11 games remaining = 1.092 points per game required

With a 6 point deduction

5 wins = 18 points, 11 games remaining = 1.64 points per game required

Stranded Reading

Millwall (h)
Blackburn (a)
Hull (h)
Bristol City (a)
Birmingham (h)
Preston (a)

Anything a bonus from the next two, then ideally about 8 or 9 points from the next 4
