From Despair To Where?
PATRIQT I hope he used his Spurs connections and brings in Dane Scarlet on a season loan. Quality young lad and would be a great addition up front.

Ahem...

From Despair To Where? Don't know but whenever I play FM, Dane Scarlett always turns into a world class player.

Maybe if we offer him the armband he'll be more interested.

In fairness, so does Troy Parrott and last I checked his actual career hasn't really taken off as expected?

Granted, 10 goals and 7 assists in 47 apps for MK Dons isn't too shabby of a record, it's nothing to write home about.

I wasn't being entirely serious, although I reckon Cherno Samba's worth a look.

And it is never too late for Freddy Adu to come good.

NathStPaul Yeah we need to go back to traditional scouting. For years Reading would raid the lower leagues, Scotland and Ireland and pick up some bargains. The talent is out there if you look hard enough. We just need to go back to basics.

yeah i was talking bollox as per usual  , just found the minutes

STAR: Then moving to the football management group, we understand that we have the player
recruitment group, which we believe needs to be much more visible. We understand that this consists
of Dayong Pang, Bryan Stabler, Pauno as first team manager and Michael Gilkes. We also understand
we have Seb Ewen as Head of Recruitment.

Reading FC: Jason Lawson is Head of Recruitment at the club. Seb reports into him.
STAR: Ok. That’s not clear to us and, I’m sure, other fans. Do we have a scouting network, then?

Reading FC: Yes. Seb reports to Jason. In terms of scouts, we have a network of scouts - mostly UK
based but not only looking in this country. They are out watching games and analysing players. We
also have an Academy recruitment group too, which operate below the first team level and they scout
for all the age group teams we have

So as above, I imagine Jason Lawson he been fired.

Think it was Ince who said we didn't have any scouts

Yep Ince mentioned he didn’t think we had any scouts and that him and Rae were doing everything at a presser, sending the fans in to meltdown. He was of course, talking bollocks.

At that Star meeting Paunovic was still manager, so it's possible that between then and Ince taking over the scouts were all let go / left.

That's also not 100% clear whether they're ours, or we're in contact with a network of someone else's scouts... Joorabchian's for example.

I thought at the time that Ince was referring to someone scouting the opposition rather than actual future signings . The sort of job that Chris Davies does/did for Rodgers and Bowen supposedly did for Gomes when he first joined us .

As badly as we feel we’re run I’d be very surprised if all scouting services for future signings have disappeared.

Wonder if Brian played for Wrexham in the “pants day” game.
