The English football league system, also known as the football pyramid, is a series of interconnected leagues for men's association football clubs in England, with five teams from Wales, one from Guernsey, one from Jersey and one from the Isle of Man also competing. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, allowing even the smallest club the theoretical possibility of ultimately rising to the very top of the system, the Premier League.

Guess you are feeling a bit thicker!

Capital letters and proper nouns are things that just happen to other people, aren't they..?

That's the system, not actually what is classed as the "Football League". The Football League are the divisions from levels 2-4, whereas the National League is levels 5-10 administered by the FA.

So Wrexham are competing to beat Darlington's record.

No sh*t, Sherlock....

I'll explain to you in simple terms :

"English football league system" - no capital letters, not a proper noun, and referring to a loose overall structure run by numerous individual competition organiser which comprises every football club competing in all those leagues
"English Football League" - capital letters, a proper noun and a single legal entity consisting of a single competition organiser with just 72 member clubs.

I do hope KKKarbuncle realises Phil Parkinson is happily married and there's no absolutely chance of rimming him.

I think Parky has found his level which, add in all the cash that Wrexham are spending, equals success.

I think as soon as they come back into League 2, a couple of things will happen; Wrexham will either struggle and they will sack Parky, or they will get promoted to League 1 and Parky will have got beyond his managerial capabilities and will get sacked again as soon as they realise this.

I think Wrexham have genuine ambitions at getting into the Championship, but it is unlikely that when they get there, Parky will be their Manager.

Not to bring this back to Record Watch but Sheffield Wednesday lose to Forest Green of all teams and thus drop out of the race, just Burnley to go now.

Burnley have Middlesborough and Sheffield United in the games directly after tomorrow's match against Sunderland.

If they don't drop points in any of those, then I would say they are likely to get the record - it would be kind of great if they say lost at Boro but won the other 2 meaning they come to us with a total of 107 possible, we then nick a battling draw due to a last minute controversial penalty.

Sheff Wed have collapsed. They looked very likely to come close a couple of weeks ago, with an easy run, since when they have picked up two points from four matches. Came back from 2-0 down late on last night to draw 2-2 at Cheltenham, good comeback, but that is what they are reduced to.

Terrible month for Derby taking 4 points from 15. Any decent return could of had them sniffing around top 2 - now they are looking over their shoulder. Last game of season - away to Sheffield Wednesday. That could be a belter. One to go up, another to fight to keep place in play off's.

As good as he has been, I'd prefer us to go for someone younger than a 33 year old.

Good. If Derby come back up immediately it would frankly make a mockery of the administration process that they were still able to build a side capable of promotion.

No problem with them going on to have success but instant promotion would leave a bad taste IMHO.

He was looking well passed it the season they got relegated. Probably able to boss it in L1, but no longer got the legs for Championship. Three years ago, hell yes. Except he was well out of our financial league then

If Burnley pull off 8 in a row from here, then they are welcome to the record.
