Millsy I can't believe nobody has yet mentioned how error-prone he allegedly is. Do we honestly want another error-prone keeper? DIscuss.

The reason nobody has yet mentioned how error-prone he allegedly is is because you are not allowed to call it "error-prone" any more.

"Save challenged" is the correct terminology for a 'keeper.
("Goal challenged" for a striker, etc.)

Oh.

Or humour-challenged for me. Although it doesn't matter as I identify as a funny chap.

Yeah ok I get it thanks.

A local journo's assessment of Lumley:

"At Boro, though, he was inconsistent. A fine save would be followed by a cheap goal conceded. His decision making was costly at times as well, often failing to convince when coming for crosses."

Could well have been describing Southwood?

I see him a tall Luke Southwood.

I see him as someone else's taller, older less good Southwood.

Hopefully he's actually good.

Yes, it’s all been said.

Let’s let him have the final word.

Half here can pat themselves on the back, the other half can put on the horse-hair shirt.

Just for those who haven’t seen Lumley’s “highlights”.

I’m sure we could have done a similar clip for Al Habsi, no?

It’s a good job we didn’t give up on him after a few poor performances isn’t it

Yes, but most of the goals would have been at other clubs. Early on he dropped a handful of howlers, then went on to be great.

AAH would have had a highlights package with stacks of acrobatic saves. The Boro fans felt sorry for Lumley because he was a nice guy but a truly terrible keeper.

At times like these it's good to remember that someone has always got it worse than you.

Look at Cheltenham Town, their keeper has conceded 10 goals in a week.

Not saying we should do it but if you're loaning a player can you cancel a loan immediately after signing him?

It will almost certainly depend on the contract. Probably not without penalty.

I'm guessing we could cancel in January if he doesn't work out

Might be needed if he keeps making basic errors. He was ok vs Blackpool and Cardiff though so let's not write him off after one game. I think he's better than Southwood and not massively worse than Rafael

Well we can't say Boro fans didn't warn us about Lumley... Jesus Christ!
