Abrefa
Holzman
Abbey
Carson
Senga
Green
Scott
Akande
Okine-Peters
Ehibhatiomhan
SUBS
Collins
Trialist-probably Maragh

Vickers
Melvin-Lambert

That's a pretty decent starting 11with 3 or 4 already having first team experience. Should just about be enough to get the job done.

A big thanks to Royals and Racers for the match updates tonight, really appreciated.

Shame the young Royals didn't get through this evening but it would have been a good experience for them

Nice set up at Marlow and a healthy crowd of 396. That said I didn’t come away thinking I’d seen the next superstar ready to grace the 1st team squad anytime soon. Frustrating to concede so late on as well. Not really sure where the 4th official got 8 added on minutes as well.

That was my 13th B & B senior cup match of the season and next Monday’s other Semi Bracknell v MK Dons will be the 14th :)
I like Jack Senga and would like to see him involved with the 1st team next season.

Was thinking exactly the same, if they can't beat Marlow in 90 minutes and nobody particularly stood out, then there is a fat chance that they will be involved with the first team at Championship level this season and possibly not even League One next season in the event we were relegated.

That was a strong U23 side for us as well.

Anyone who went to Kidderminster last year would know that relying on our youth players probably wouldn't work out too well.

I'm not sure who "those" are. Not really a sentiment I've seen expressed.

But I don't think it is a particularly strong team. Abbey and Abrefa are very good and Ehib and Scott have their qualities. There was no Azeez, Tetek, Leavy, Osario, Camara, Purcell, or Craig, which means the entire midfield is second-string (maybe a bit harsh on Scott to compare him to Azeez who is much older). I know people rate Senga-Ngoyi but he's only just turned 19 and doesn't have much experience at that level. No Stickland or Dorsett or John Clarke at the back. No Jahmari Clarke either.

And in any case, not sure this is a good way to judge them as anything other than opponents for Marlow. Terrible pitch, a triallist got himself sent off, and they didn't have senior players around to guide them like they would in the first team... just not comparable to first team action.

Think Abrefa will be in consideration next season, relegation or not. Actually not sure it would make a huge difference for many players - maybe Southwood, Tetek, Azeez will have a little less competition.

Matty Carson isn`t a trialist he is now a Reading player- hopefully for years to come as he is quality.

It’s a bit harsh to use a game against Marlow to say that our academy players aren’t good enough to make the step up to league 1 or championship level.

Of course if the starting 11 was all academy players they wouldn’t be but 2 or 3 with a few seasoned pros and maybe a couple of loan signings from the premiership should be.

Look how Holmes has progressed this year and the likes of Azeez and Abrefa should be more than ready next season if staying fit. Some of these players just need to gain experience with a run of games. If we aren’t going to use our academy players we might as well have a B team like Brentford.

We have let some decent youngsters slip through our fingers over the years and if anything we need to be better at finding the right balance between youth and experience.

Azeez I consider a first team player, Tetek is injured for the season and aren't both Purcell and Leavy out on loan? It's strong for what we had available.

I play on terrible pitches at amateur level, yet usually the better teams tend to come through on the day and win the game because they have more quality. Not doubting experienced players alongside would help, but it's hardly a promising sign.
