Will you go to the Huddersfield game if it's a relegation play-off?

by Elm Park Kid » 25 Mar 2023 14:31

Our final game of the season is away at Warnock's Huddersfield. Given our likely points deduction and their takeover avoiding administration, there's a reasonable chance that it could essentially be a relegation play-off.

Could you bear the idea of going to a match where a Warnock team relegates us, with Colin then dancing around the pitch in celebration as he manages another miraculous escape? Or, would it be worth it for the chance of seeing his (maybe) final management job end in failure?

No, although potentially watching us get beaten and relegated by Warnock has exactly nothing to do with why.

Agreed. Would have loved to have seen him here instead of Ince.

Why you say it`s likely? it`s been nearly 4 weeks now, the longer it goes on the less likely it becomes to me, well for this season anyway.

I’m planning to go to one more away game this season which will either be this one or Coventry. I’ll be working up in Chesterfield early May and Huddersfield is only about 50 miles away so I’ll probably go.

Maybe we’ll have to have a relegation party a bit like Stoke had at Brighton in 1990 from memory. I think they were over 12 points adrift at the time and took over 3000 fans down to Brighton on the last day of the season.

Like you I'm starting to wonder. If we don't get it by next Friday, I don't think it will happen.

Yes I'll be there.

I've only been to Huddersfield once. I had a fight with a bloke called Brian and threw up on a grave.

I'm very keen to return.

Only about 40 minutes from where I am and my partner lives 15-20 minutes away so I'll definitely be going. It wouldn't matter if it was a relegation play off or whether we were safe, I'd still be going. Hopefully for us all it's the latter, but it's going to be a big game for at least Huddersfield I imagine.

Same here. Went with the school band nearly 40 years ago. Booked hotel rooms, so I'm going come what may.

I’ll be there, face painted up, blue curly clown wig, rumble sticked up, ready for a humiliating slow trudge back to the gasworks car park after the game.

Or, I may get the train over and get shitfaced and make a day of it, last game of the season and all that.

Maybe you can double team him next time? or better still avoid him and graveyards.

My kids and I will be heading up from Chesterfield too! We intend to go to Coventry and Huddersfield!
