Sutton yes can tick that ground off when it's hopefully not too busy - couldn't give a shiny one about the rest - and Swansea as the final one is just not very good

Any idea when the Sutton tickets go on sale?

Seeing as the game isn't for another 6 weeks, I would imagine it'll be a little while yet.

Wouldn't have thought it'd be all ticket, Reading are hardly a big must see draw so would expect tickets available on the day.

Might be worth going as a new ground for some (and for revenge as a Reading XI was stuffed 4-0 there in a friendly back in 2014) also has Bouzanis going back to his old club and their football director is Reading's 27th best ever manager on a ppg ratio.

Understand #SaintsFC have a pre-season friendly pencilled in against Reading FC at the SCL Stadium on July 22.

ROYALS PRE-SEASON SET FOR SPELL IN SPAIN

First team players will be back at Bearwood next week as they prepare to work some hard graft into their bodies after a summer of rest and recuperation - ahead of the start of our 2023-24 League One campaign.

And after the first few days of fitness testing and getting back out on the grass with the ball at their feet, the Royals will travel to Spain for a week in Alicante - a trip which was booked before the end of last season but has now been fine-tuned ahead of the players returning to training.

On Spanish shores, a squad made up of first team players and our Under-21s squad – who returned to training this week - are set to prepare themselves physically for the rigours of League One football.

And we can now confirm that the week will end with a friendly fixture against AFC Wimbledon who are also spending pre-season in south-east Spain.

The match against the Dons will kick off at 11am local time (10am UK time) on Saturday 8 July and will be played at Estadio Olimpico Camilo Cano in La Nucia. The game will be open to fans, however we also aim to bring you the best of the action via our social media channels and official website.

We also plan to bring you behind-the-scenes footage and photos from our team base camp out in Spain during a week which is designed to start to bring the players closer together ahead of the start of our campaign which we now know will see us host Peterborough on Saturday 5 August.

So the club aren't paying tax but are forking out to take X number of players and staff to Spain for a week?

Something doesn't add up here.

This was organised pre relegation in fairness although not a particularly good look I accept that.

What's the point, there's so few of them.

Might as well get a static caravan down at Selsey for them all to sleep in.

I guess if admin or something was imminent, they'd probably be looking to cancel. Rather than just ploughing on with plans that are already in place.

Also going to have to check out the twitter comments just to see what the brain trust over there have to say about it all!

I vaguely remember the squad meeting Pauno abroad while he was waiting for his work permit. Might be doing the same thing with Rubie.

From memory that was to do with Covid protocol and it was either Spain or Portugal (can't remember) having looser restrictions.

Doesn't look good does it. Can't pay players and staff on time and has HMRC chasing us, but we can spend money arguably unnecessarily going to Spain for a training camp...

Great to see the trip to Spain is going ahead - reassurance that actually, some things are alright and perhaps a return to business as usual. Communication would be helpful, but i am, for the moment, seeing this as a positive. Coupled with the change of wording regarding HMRC, today is a slightly better day.
