floyd__streete Feyenoord fans - welcome to Reading, which is pronounced Reed-ing. The local custom is to buy your hosts a pint each. Remember: Saturdays in Reading town centre are naked days; anyone not joining in this custom which goes back to the days when Oscar Wilde was imprisoned in Reading Gaol are liable to be given 40 lashes in the town square. In Reading it is also customary to approach any male wearing a gold necklace, tracksuit bottoms & a cap and shout the traditional greeting of pikey!

You've got yourself a deal with getting a pint on my account, as long as all the hosts buy me one too!! 8)
The Wynford Arms is the place to go, Remember the Naked Saturdays rule. I guarantee everyone in the pub will be friendly towards you.

Until you've seen me naked!!
but by the way of your reply, I expect a pub with a rainbow flag above the door and all man walking around with a leather hat??

I'm staying overnight in Reading though as I'm going to the Millenniumstadium in Cardiff on Sunday, to see the Liverpool-Chelsea game. Not the worst weekend ever!!

Reading, not Brighton :P

no, also I don't wear wooden shoes, I don't live in a windmill, I don't have tulips in the garden (as far as I can recognise flowers...) and I don't do any of the other "typical Dutch" things either....

I bet you eat "stampot" though

feyenoordfan As I can see it now, our striker Dirk Kuyt will stay another year with us, instead of going to Liverpool,

Benitez must have seen him play in the World Cup.

As long as Benitez is believing in a player as Peter Crouch, I don't take him too seriously!! :P

ps: Luckily for us you haven't seen the real Dirk Kuyt on the World Cup!!
As long as this lets him stay for at least another year, I'm happy!!

That certainly was a great moment!!

An English friend of mine was over in Rotterdam for this match and after the 1-0 the only thing he could say while looking around was:

"My God, you Feyenoord-fans really are totally mad!!!"

Hahaha, greatest compliment ever!!

Hope he will still play for Feyenoord in the Madejskistadium!!

Sometimes I still wake up at night, shaking all over my body, thinking about what happened when van hooijdonk scored the 1-1 in the last seconde against psv in the quarter final uefa cup 2002, complete insanity haha

Why is it that I'm not surprised that somebody with a name like yours makes such a reply :?:

Most Feyenoord fans don't even care about the Dutch National footballteam, so I don't hope you're too serious with your question?

The best thing about hockey are the short skirts of the woman's team....

You can check one of the players of the woman's team on her website:

My son is part of a party of SWL sea scouts currently at the Dutch national seascout camp, Nawaka, near Arnhem (6,000 of them; a dibbing and a dobbing). Given the wacky  comments of the Dutch fans on here can I expect him to come back traumatised, or more likely bored?

I think your son will be ok, although the weather is not as good as last week anymore.

ps: I'm a bit sad that you think only the Dutch fans make wacky comments!!
