Didcot 1 Reading 9 full time.

Lita scored a couple or three, Kitson, Long, Gunnarsson, Doyle all on the scoresheet.

First half was the first 11, ended 3-1 after going 1 down. Bit sloppy all round but improved.

Second half was a complete change of team, we looked a lot more lively, not sure if Didcot changed their whole team as they got a lot worse.

Leroy got 4, looked in good nick.

9-1 Finish

Seol played on the left for the most part, a few neat touches but looked as rusty as the rest of the team.

Nice little game although the reserve/second half side looked more alert and played more around at the start of their half.

Glen Little, not too sure but he didn't look too great, although got into it more as the game went on.

Seol worked well, a couple nice little runs finishing them off with nicely heighted crosses.

Doyle and Kitson looked happy bunnies, as did Gunnarsson, Shorey and Murts. Special mention to Murts, he was a spark today.

Sidwell seem about his normal self, with a few neat balls.

Sonko and Ingi though, were being hassled by a couple of quick strikers, which was causing one or two problems at the back (I think maybe more to the alertness side of their games).

Lita looked in top shape, undoubtably after scoring 4 goals.

All in all a comfortable match for the best part of it, as we'd expect.

Didcot Town 1 (Concannon)
Reading 9 (Gunnarsson, Kitson, Doyle, Lita 4, Long 2)

Steve Coppell's Royals opened their preseason campaign with a comprehensive 9-1 win at Didcot Town's Loop Meadow.

Leroy Lita marked his long-awaited return from injury with four well-taken goals as the visitors ran away with the game in the second half.

Shane Long bagged two meanwhile and both Kitson and Doyle also found themselves on the scoresheet to complete an excellent day's work for the Reading front four.

Seol Ki-Hyeon made an impressive debut in midfield, as boss Coppell gave 21 players a run out, changing his entire outfield playing staff at half time.

Full match report to come soon.

Really?? I thought he looked really sharp. Never failed to stitch his man up and delivered some really nice balls. Was helped by a very attack-minded Murts though.

At the start, he did seem to not be 'all there' as it were, not running at his man like he normally would, but then, as I said, he started to get into it and started making a fool of the full back like normal.

Maybe it was my wording, sorry.

What was the reaction when sidwell got hold of the ball? I hope the Reading fans cheered him to encourage him other than boo him!

Excellent.

I always knew we were better than Didcot.
