I don't know how long its been on the official site, but the player of the month vote for October has started.

You don't need me to tell you who to vote for.

But has he really been player of the month or is this simply a sympathy vote? I suppose you could also ask the question about has anyone been better? I can name one player...

...but his bloody name isn't there!!

I'm sure Hunt will get it for October (though he really only deserves the MOTM for the Chelsea game) though I expect Sonko will close the gap. The surprise has got to be the 2.9% vote for DeLaC

Sonko !! Have you seen the last 2 games mate ?

For me the most consistant player in all the October games was Shorey or Marcus.

If it's Hunt then the public need shooting - Hasn't played all the games, only had one good half all month and got dropped against Portsmouth. Dear oh dear.

This vote denegrates the whole concept of POTM. Hunt is getting the sympathy vote of people who can't tell who has actually kept us afloat this month. He played well against Chelsea and has earned his place in the team - but POTM, not at all.

In reality this has not been a great month all round, and the only players to come out of it with any real credit are Sonko, Hahnemann and Ingimarsson. The rest have tried hard, in most cases, but have not shone above the pack.

Hanhemann gets my vote, he kept us in the game on a couple of occasions (Pompey and Arsenal for example) when it could have seriously embarrassing.

He was also a huge reason for us hardly scoring any goals this month, along with the 7 goals he has conceded in the last two games (including giving a penalty away). I agree on the Hunt sympathy vote part though.

Scarface Sonko !! Have you seen the last 2 games mate ?

It's hardly Sonko's fault if the last couple teams we've played have played the ball along the ground

Vote HUNT ... for the right reasons!!

You have a point with Shorey, but can you honestly blame Sonko for any of the last two games? Graham Norton's straighter than Hahnemann's distribution, which has been nothing short of atrocious.

No obvious choice this month, but it would be Glen Little for the impact he's made within the month coming off the bench but that suggests it's been a dissapointing month. Sidwell would deserve a mention for his role, his clearance at West Ham was brilliant and had that goal gone in, things would be very different.

I wonder if there have been any outside influences on the voting.

No one has really stood out. I would vote for Ingi, he's been pretty solid. Doyle in second place.

No player has been head and shoulders above the rest this month.

Ingimarsson gets my vote for consistency.

Shorey for me. Consistent quiet team player. It will be wrong for Hunt to win it. It will only be seen a sympathy vote even if it isn't
