Warnock not charged!!!!!

by mikey0406 » 24 Jan 2007 15:01

Just seen a news report on SSN, and the latest to come out of the FA is that both clubs will be charged for failure to control their players, Wally Downess will be charged for adopting an aggressive behaviour and guess what......... Warnock has got off Scott Free!

how is that possible as it was his stamping action that kicked everything off on the touchline.... catalyst for chaos!

Lack of evidence, I'd guess.

i don't like the man, but he was clearly innocent of any charges.

well the ref will have confirmed his story is correct and Downes mis-read the whole thing.

I predict a minor gloat from RR, which to be fair is probably deserved.

If Warnock hadn't been on a 4 match suspended ban we may have seen some action, but 4+ matches would have been overkill given what the ref must have reported.

Why did Warnock decide to bring up the Sidwell tackle immediately after Gillespie had been sent off?

mikey0406 Wally Downess will be charged for adopting an aggressive behaviour and guess what......... Warnock has got off Scott Free!

So the stamping action was not adopting an aggressive behaviour? That does not make sense.

Straight from the source. Warnock's been "reminded of his responsibilities"...

I expected you to not be able to understand it. You're blind to anything that doesn't fit with your perception of Reading FC being the holy messiah of football and all who oppose it being the antichrist in need of being burnt at the stake.

The ref heard what Warnock said and knows he was not doing anything wrong. Inadvisable and inflamatory at the time maybe, hence being sent to the stands to calm the situation.

Maybe Warnock did charge up Gillespie, maybe he was encouraging his players to go in hard or worse, but there is no evidence for it so he can't be charged.

Heat of the moment, you sent off my player, and Sidwell's was the worst tackle blah, blah.

I guessed he'd have no charges to face because I saw him mouth 'Sidwell's tackle' on the highlights.

Can't really see the problem with this. Warnock may be a bit of a tool, but I can't honestly see that he did too much wrong here.

As expected. Nothing indicates misbehaviour from Warnock on this occasion. Of course you might argue that neither of the referees heard what he said, but most likely it seems that the referee has backed Warnock's story of that incident.

Then he just has the sarchastic handclapping to answer for, which is - of course - nothing.

Not just Downes but also Gillespie who took Colin's suggestion to "Do Him" literally. It looks like Colin will escape punishment but at the expense of dumping on Gillespie who must now feel let down and a prize fool!

So he stamped and yelled, and then a significant amount of time later (he'd had time to quiet down, ruminate a while and then pick up his water bottle for a drink) a coach from the opposition bench charges over and pushes him. I can;t see how he can be charged for causing the fracas.

You of course are just guessing this, you have no evidence that Warnock instructed Gillespie to 'do' anyone

The right outcome really. Warnock is a tool, but he wasn't the one who walked out of his techinical area and pushed over a memeber of the opposing team's staff!
