As for Sodje, I don't think he's good enough for this level and at 27 he's not got too much time on his side unfortunately - I reckon he'll move on at the end of the season as it hasn't worked out.

Sodje was very good up at Birmingham and I thought he had a chance of starting tonight instead of Bikey.

The fact that Pearce made the bench ahead of him makes little sense unless he's injured or about to leave us.

Given that this occured on the same day we signed 2 defenders, I think he might be on his way.

Coppell on BBCRB said he chose Bikey over Sodje because of the extra size and presence - needed against Heskey et al. That will be the case in most games, so in effect he is to small for the Prem League and will probably go. Not done anything wrong though.

The fact Pearce was sub instead of Sodje suggests that he wasn't played due to an impending transfer, most probabably a swap deal with Leon Barnett.

Coppell's comments made sense about the physical aspect, but that argument is a joke considering a teenager was on the bench infront of him.

I found Sodje's exclusion from the bench a bit wierd when Pearce was there; we had Dela as defensive back up, so i would have thought that Convey could have been on the bench (though to be fair, he was probably knackered after playing the full 90 mins of both the reserve game and the FA Cup game on sat).

I suspect Pearce was on there to get a taste of being in the full squad for a League game.
