Cisse = God (For The Day!)

by Royal Tezza » 19 Jan 2008 17:03

I thought the big man deserved a thread to himself for his performance today. Sheer class, thrown in at centre back and kept Tevez reasonably quiet all game. Constantly there to throw in a leg or a head to deflect a shot or break up an attack. He may be the answer to our centre back woes if he can keep this up. :P

His positional sense seemed great at both ends of the field for (almost) the entire game. And he's quick too. See him leave Tevez in his dust on one of their breaks?

1 excellent game does not make a season, but he's certainly starting to come good.

I just hope a few people might learn not to right our signings off so quickly now. Then again they never learnt from any other example so why change now.

Perhaps you should take a leaf out of your own book then. Why does one match vindicate you on Cisse/Marek/signings in general?

Stop stuff from the two of them today, now let's see it continue.

A heartening performance, but best of all, mud in the eye for the knockers.

Good to see him finally playing centre half having looked so out of position play midfield.

Certainly has the pace and the strength.

We need a ball playing centre half. Sonko, Bikey, Cisse all have good future ahead of them, but are all a touch similar imo. Need a younger Ivar in there long term.

Cisse's a bit more cultured than Sonko or Bikey. He may be the Ivar replacement to line up with one of them.

I dunno bout him being more cultured. Of the 3 Bikey is the best footballer, which isn't saying too much. Wouldn't want of any combo of the 3 playing centre half, or we'd see a lot of aimless hoofs imo.

Could be interesting time for Sonko when he comes back from AON. If Cisse keeps playing like this I think it'll be very hard for Sonks to get back in the side and that's even if he does redicover his old form.

I think the biggest compliment for Cisse was just how assured he looked, considering how little he's played centre half this season and the quality of the opposistion.

He looked the biz today, but we'll have to see how he gets on in there against a lump of a centre forward who shoves him about all over the place.

Rooney's not a lumping aerial player. I'm thinking someone more like Ashton or Heskey.

Playing Rooney is difficult because of his movement, not really because of his physicality.

Some people just never want to cheer up. For the first time since the Liverpool we have something to feel good about, so just smile and relax, guys.
