LOLawrence has us to win 2-1 - and for Reading to stay up. Think he is right on both accounts.

Reading 6 v Villa 3

Okay you can scoff at such a prediction but no one would have believed the 7 v 4 at Portsmouth or 6 v 4 at Tottenham.

My thinking is this. Doyle has not scored for ages and is due a goal. He is too good a player not to be scoring regularly in the Prem (hoping he may read this and it will be a confidence boost for him.) So Doyle gets two. Kitson is on the verge of an England call up so will be out to impress the watching millions so he gets two as well. Mateovsky will get lots of pre-match publicity off Sky cos he is the new boy and will sneak a twenty yarder from a Shorey corner. Inge will get a header from a Hunt corner.

And of course we will let in three cos we have a crap defence. Carew will score. So will Agbongla-Whore and some other foreign bloke they employ. Probably French.

Twix bars will be buy one get one free in the East Stand. The bloke in front of you in the queue for a beer will smell of Old Spice and Cheese and Onion Crisps. You will see one person wearing the Red and Yellow hooped away kit circa 1993? I have one!

Would take a draw but expect a defeat. 2-0, with some quick bloke on the counter attack and some big bloke scoring from a set piece.

hunt will grab us a late goal, 85th minute ish. Goal mouth scramble and our favourite lepricorn will hammer it home from 8 yards out.

3-1 Reading

But would take a 1-0 win with anyone scoring at anytime.

Reading 0 Villa 2

I think all this positivity from the chairman, managers and players will inevitably mean a really crap performance, until the last 5 minutes when we decide to play and then miss a penalty and hit the post.

Tinrib But more importantly, I dont want to see players playing for themselves, new contracts, scouts or showboating for their bird in the stands, I want to see the team playing for the shirt.

How quaint. People still believe that footballers give a damn about the club they play for.

My prediction? We lose without scoring. Same as it ever was.....

Reading 1 Aston Villa 2

Dreamt last night a Royals victory. Marek lob over the keeper in the 15th minute and Lita drives one just outside the 18yd box in the 22nd. Cisse gets an unjust red and the Royals let off allowing a scrappy goal from Reo-Coker.

We stiffen-up and hang on to the victory.

Kebe comes on in the 87th minute as a last throw of the dice at 0-0, runs past 6 Villa defenders at the first time of asking, dummies the keeper and slots home from a tight angle 6 yards out.... Reading then concede a set piece with the last kick of the ball after 18 minutes of injury time.

1-1

Er... Isn't Agbonlahor English? I mean, I thought Capello picked him for the team and everything.

Let's not jump to any conclusions based on African surnames.

If we play like we did against Bolton: 0-2

If we play like we did against Everton: 1-1

Don't care how we score as long as we score!!!

Birmingham have shown us the way today. If they can take a point off Arsenal with only 10 men, surely we can get at least one against Villa. If not, then.... I see tomorrow as real crunch time. Stand up to the plate, you guys.

What he said. Lawrenson has got more right this term than I have so if he's agreeing with me then it's got to be right, innit? Stands to reason.
