Campaign to get rid of the Huddle

by Get Carter » 26 Feb 2008 21:39

Coppell does not seem to know what to do when his preparation, team selection and tactics end in the inevitable defeat and then we are subjected to we've still got 11 games to go drivel. One positive thing he can do is get rid of the ridiculous huddle. It clearly does not work - Murty apparently makes a motivational speech before every defeat - what is the point - it makes us look silly and clearly fires up our opponents and has the opposite effect to what it is intended for. Pardew introduced it and it has run it's course - Coppell needs to get rid of it before Middlesbrough. Make a decision Coppell - get rid of the huddle.

I think they should all do motivational STAR jumps on the half way line before kick off.

things that have not yet been suggested as reasons for our decline.

1) playing in hoops
2) the mild winter
3) the recent curse of years ending in "8"
4) the untimely death of Jeremy Beadle
5) ???

I hesitate to mention this to a man of the cloth but the fact is that the downturn in our fortunes is entirely due to Leroy's video which made all the other players feel inadequate. As to the huddle I understand that Nigel Howe is considering extending this to include the crowd.

couldn't he extend the huddle to include Leroy's video antics? I'd be nice to see our players scoring again.

Other things to get rid of:

1. Away games
2. Home games
3. The second half of the season - we don't have second season syndrome, we've got second half of the season syndrome

I am starting a campaign to get rid of the goals. It is clear they are proving a distraction, and if we get rid of them, then we can't let any in.
