Reading 3 v 1 Fulham

Doyle breaks his non scoring sequence with a double in the first half to bring us back from one nil down. The early Fulham score gets Gordon McQueen on Sky TV very excited about them pulling out of the 'dreaded drop zone'.
The second half is a tad boring and covered in no more than three minutes on MOTD. The only bit shown is the Steve Hunt goal from eight yards out following a low cross by Harper (it was meant to be a high cross but the mis hit caught the Fulham defence out.)
The crowd are bouyant after Hunt's goal kills the game off in the 82nd minute with 'number 13' singing songs about Sir Steve, Mr Mad and staying up in the Premier League for another season with great gusto. There is massive cheering when Glen L. comes on for the last five minutes in place of Oster (more because Oster is going off than Little is coming on.)
The Cheese and Onion Crisps you buy will be one month short of the sell by date. There will be seven people in front of you at the queue for the food. The person sat next to you on your right will not be wearing a Reading shirt. RFC v Fulham will be firth match on MOTD and select number Four on Football First.

woodley_royal_124 Using reverse psychology, we are going to get beat 5-0, Kitson is going to get bulldozed, Matejovsky will get sent off again and Steve Coppell will get sent to the stands..........

Where will Coppell get sent to if he mis-behaves in the first half ?

4-1.

Doyle gets 2, Shane long comes on and gets another and Bikey scores at both ends.

brendywendy 3-1 reading

doyle(foot), hunt(6 yard easy volley), little( jinks past all 10 outfield players before chipping the keeper exquisitly)
Bullard (free kick)

a performance to wash away the newcastle blues

NOTHING can wash away the Newcastle blues! We were awful and it was a really painful afternoon. After that, my optimism for the rest of the season is not what it was.

I've given it a lot of thought and I reckon we're going to thump Fulham today. We'll be relaxed for a change and we'll play some football for a change.

Come on you Royals!

Reading West Reading 1 Fulham 1

Everyone's talking about this being's Reading biggest game of the season, well its more like fulhams biggest game, if they don't win they are as good as down
I see McBride giving Fulham the lead with Doyle breaking his scoring duck with 10 minutes to go. West ham does Reading a favour by drawing with Bolton.

Best one so far.

Man Friday Reading to lose making it an "interesting" finale to the season. ("I do so hope I'm wrong" - and usually am.)

For the first time this season, placed a bet to that effect. (Been supporting them too long to think that they'll make life comfortable. It felt very "1970s" today.) Together with betting on Bolton, won a few pounds. Rather have lost it, though.
