I was surprised to hear on Sunday that St Mary's doesn't have undersoil heating.
With all new grounds I would have thought it would be an automatic thing to have.

That's what surprised me with the Birmingham v Wolves game being off. I'd have thought Brum had under soil heating too.

winchester_royal Email from the club.

Thank you for your email. I can not guarantee the match will be played, as anything can go wrong between now and kick off however we do have under soil heating so it would be extremely unlikely to be called off because of the freezing conditions.

Kind Regards

Pitch might be fine but I guess if you get snow/water in and around the stadium and that then freezes, Mr Doyle may have to call it off in the interests of crowd safety.

FiNeRaIn quote]

I was at that game, for a premiership fixture the standard watford played at was woeful, no passing football at all. We weren't much better and often have problems getting behind their defence.

We do pass it now...backwards and sideways though so not really creating chances of note.

I'd say most of the games under Rodgers have been pretty dull even compared to what we saw under Boothroyd at times..at least we sort of went forwards!

Baines
Irvinchangeyaname Nothing to do with the cold. Friday evening is no night for football and the motorways will be a bleeding nightmare.

I'd like to agree, because I'm a 3pm Saturday afternoon traditionalist. However, the 3-3 cracker at home to Forest at Elm Park and the 1-1 away at Palace in the promotion season were both brilliant Friday nights for football.

I think I prefer night-time football. There's something more compelling about it.

Wasn't the 2-1 win against Bolton in 1995 also a Friday?

Archie's penalty It's freeeezing up here in Manc with snow on the ground. What makes it worse is my heating doesn't seem to be working and have just got back from my parent's place which was steaming warm with lots of food.

It's going to be -7 here tonight. Help!

LOL

I woke up on Tuesday in Milan, where it was inches of snow and a national holiday. Add in Easyjet, a plane full of small children, whatever happened between Manchester and Euston on the trains, the check-in desks deciding to take a coffee break halfway through the cue, the plane being delayed because people took too many liberties with hand-luggage, sitting on the runway for an hour while two greasy pricks de-iced the wings by staring at them really intently ...

Matt de K ....just a heads up, it's gonna be weiner invoking freezing. Metcheck has it down as being -5 with a feels like -8 :o :o :o

Interesting to see if the guy halfway up the Y24 edge of Y25 wears his shorts and flip-flops

I expect he will as he'll want to show the world how hard he still is...

What would be honourable about that. Ref gave us a non-goal, then denied us a penalty. They got draw they probably wouldn't have got, but for that goal.

All square.

It's troll time....

I hear Man Utd have agreed to give Spurs a goal start in their next game.

And next time England play Germany we're going to let them walk one in at the start of the game.

All Liverpool's opponents are going to get automatic penalties and John Terry is officially suspended for the rest of his career to make up for all the red cards that he hasn;t been awarded.

In other news, the FA have granted Petr Cech one minute to set about Stephen Hunt with a baseball bat.

Obsessed. Let it go. You're not even in the same league anymore.
