Why would anyone criticise Sidders? He played his heart out and, probably more importantly for some, kept his mouth shut and stayed out of the limelight in trying to prostitute himself to the highest bidder.

Thinking about it, I would label shunt as a villain purely on the grounds of his shameless behaviour of recent weeks.

Terminal Boardom Michael Meaker. Probably the most over-rated, overpaid and sh1te player ever to wear the hoops
John Hasledon. His answer to every injury was to send players on a 10 mile run. Just ask Stuart Beavon
Charlie Hurley. For shattering the dreams of a then 13 year old

And if we can include opposing players then there is only one contender:

Ron Futcher

And Chris Kamara for the same reason.

You could have a whole chapter dedicated to Paul Bodin! Didn't one fan almost attack him after one of the home games when he was getting into his car?

Steve Sidwell for claiming that Reading were being unfair to him by only offering a 20k contract (or whatever it was), also claiming that we were forgetting that he had a wife and kid to pay for now. Pr*ck.

It's a shame you can't have a w*nker page for the likes of Robert Maxwell for trying to merge us with Oxford, Nigel Quashie, Jim Magilton and David Connolly. David Connolly was almost a Reading player too.

James Lambert for being both villain and hero. That guy was either future Prem star or Henley Town. Shame he ended up being the latter.

Bodin was pure poo.

For a controversial nomination I would propose Neil Webb. He left, we almost got Maxwell'd and relegated immediately after he left. And why did he leave for £80k ish? He thought we needed the money. GIT!

Briefly, yes. Then he got us relegated. Did Ajax get relegated?

Bodin, the man so shit, when the ref sent him off for an offence someone else committed, not a single player argued.

The case of mistaken identitiy was with Gareth Davies IIRC. The South Bank erupted with delight when he got the red card! I had an interesting chat with Mick Gooding about Bodin. I asked him why he thought that Bodin was a better left back than Dylan Kerr.
