Everybody has forgotten Noel Hunt ! He did train today so I imagine Mr Coppell will be asking him to play tomorrow. I believe he will also be putting a couple of goals past the Preston Goal Keeper......but thats just my 'prophetic' insight into the match (not 'pathetic' insight !)

Cold, rain and a dull 2-0 win.

Doyle with both.

Preston at 5/1 to win is a good bet.

I don't mean that's my prediction, but I think they are good odds

Reading 3 v 1 Preston North End

Reading make a fast start to the match with a lot of early possession and from their second corner in the first five minutes the ball drops to Doyle who stabs home from five yards.

The game evens out and Preston see a bit more of the ball for the rest of the half until five minutes before half time Shunt finds space to swing in a cross that brother Noel coverts with a deft header at the near post.

Alan Irvines half time hairdryer treatment clearly has an effect on the PNE players (they all come out with lovely new hairstyles in the second half) and after 65 minutes a mistake by Rosenior allows their left winger to do some fancy jinky stuff and before we know it its 2 v 1.

Backs to the wall for the next 15 mins as Preston push hard for an equaliser but Fedamanaman in Reading goal holds out and with nine minutes to go a quuick counter attack sees Armstrong break down the left wing, before playing in Long who crashes one in from 12 yards out.

The final few minutes are played out in the corner of PNE end with all ten Reading outfield players crowded round the ball so no Preston players can get anywhere close.

Our defence to freeze out the PNE attack

A complete white out of the opposition

Snow joke for travelling PNE fans

Jack Frost (PNE number -1) to be sent off

Hail a great RFC performance

RFC to rub (road) salt into PNE wounds.

............. alright, i know, I'll stop now.... sorry

1-0 Reading.

Att - roughly ten times as big as the last time preston won at Reading in 82.

Anyone on here among the 1,700 at elm park that day?

3 Horse race (including the draw)

Why do you think that is a good price (and no amateur stat making)

I would suggest it is a pretty poor price for a team that is in pretty poor form and has won just 3 from 15 away from home this season..meaning they would be a 4 to 1 shot against any random team in the division. As they are playing RFC who have lost only once at home this season and have won 5 and draw 1 of their last 6 at home I suggest the price should be nearer 7 or 8 to 1.

4-0 Urrzzz
